JJ continues his inconsistent play through the remainder of this season (peeking in the backfield, biting on double moves, not turning his head around), who would be open to trading him in the offseason for a draft pick or player?

The move is an easier decision imo because 2015 is the final year of his rookie deal AND Gaines has emerged a solid starter on the outside. With Tru's return we have 2 legitimate options starting outside and Lamarcus Joyner in the slot, who imo, just played his best game as a pro.

Thoughts?

Nope, he's been solid...and he is learning. He shows this year that he can shut down most anyone he covers, but needs to develop more consistency.

He's been decent this year, yes he had a complete head scratcher of a mistake against the 9'ers. But he's been ok apart from that

You always need backups, however JJ cannot be a starting CB on this team next year. Not if you want to win the West.

I voted no, but if the option there was for "hell no" I would have voted for that.

True, he made a stupid play on the 80 yard bomb to Lloyd. But it was also a bad defensive playcall too.

And he's also made plenty of positive plays this year, including a perfect read of Romo for a pick six. Bet nobody was thinking about trading him after the Dallas game.

It was one bad game. Guy was the best player on our defense in the 4 games prior to that. I don't know how people can love Gaines so much and hate Jenkins. I get that Jenkins gambles. It's stupid. It's reckless. It's infuriating. That long TD is inexcusable. But he's also a far better player than Gaines. Can Gaines develop into a better player(because he doesn't make stupid decisions)? Possibly.

However, I am not in favor of trading Jenkins. His cover skills and ball-skills are off the charts good and he's actually tackling well this year. He just needs to show situational awareness.

DB's get burned once and a while
That play didn't lose the game for us
We were still up by 4 at halftime
But I see you working

I don't see how letting up a big TD in nearly every game is shutting anyone down...

Admittedly I drink quite a bit during the games. Please refresh my memory on the other 4?

Jenkins is really good. He's just has those moments where he bites. That was the worste play he's had as a pro and most likely ever will. It doesn't get any worse when you know exactly what you have to do.

He's let up a TD in 3 of the 5 games.
To Dez Bryant vs Dal
To Riley Cooper vs Phi
To Washington vs SF

No way. Dude has been great imo. Sure he takes risk, but had those risk paid off, no one would say he takes to many. It's not something that happens all the time. He's a keeper. No Jarametrius Butler there.

On the Dez TD, I thought it was already established that McLeod had deep responsibility and whiffed by coming up to cover Terrance Williams running a crossing pattern.

I don't remember exactly what the Cooper TD looked like, but if I remember right he had decent coverage, but it was just a great throw.

The TD against Lloyd (think that's what you meant, not Washington) is the one legitimate mistake you listed.

the 1 to dez wasnt his fault the blame goes on Mcleod. the one verse Cooper was good defense but just a good catch. in my eyes49ers was his only bad game. But i admit he scares me because hes been biteing on double moves for forever. so no i wouldnt trade him

The Dez Bryant td has been explained already. Regarding the Cooper td, DBs aren't supposed to give up touchdowns ever????? He had good coverage and Cooper came down with the td, period. Get over it.

Really bad.
To be honest if i had to entertain the idea of trading a young player on this team right now or later it would be Tavon Austin. I won't go into it here.
I think JJ is a quality CB who still has upside.

Ditto. He just needs to use better judgment sometimes. But so does the DC, as on that play. JJ could have not bit on the double move but ended up falling down purely by accident, and because of the design of that play the result would have been the same.

Yes, I would, if the price was right. He frustrates me, and I think he has always been overrated. He hasn't learned from his mistakes, makes the same one, over, and over. He could be a good player, but I don't trust him.
