Shit happens, time to deal with it. After weeks of hearing from people here how he's lost it and we have to move him to FS and shit like that to see this epic meltdown around here is comical. Also the offseason hasn't even start how the hell can we grade it?
Yeah, that was never me. A lot of posters here wanted him back this year. It just happened a couple of hours ago, so there's a lot of time to "deal with it."

Yup there will be a whole year of football to deal with, we aren't trying to compete in 2023 it's all about next year.

So you’re blending the two together, very observant.

I don’t see it that way at all.

There were two camps and the reactions follow those two distinctly different positions.

The disappointment you hear is precisely because 2023 is a wasted year.
It's funny though if you go back and read talk around here before we won the Super Bowl you'll see the vast vast majority of everybody on here talk about how they would give anything for a Lombardi. We're seeing now that they weren't being honest.

That's BS and you know it. It was worth it, but that doesn't mean you have to like what's happening now.

we all knew Ramsey was likely gone...

yeah we were hoping for a higher draft pick... but Ramsey is headed to 30 and while he can still hit the shit out of people.

He has lost some speed and quickness and is more like a safety playing cb now.

What did Pittsburgh give up to get their all-pro safety?

And yes - I think Ramsey would be an all-pro safety.

Not everybody is melting down, some are rolling with the punches and ready for the next move. Some handle the drama better not everybody is calling for firings and flinging metaphors like a monkey in the zoo flinging poo

Plus Loyal and I are too old to wait around for the Rams to do a rebuild so us old folks can dislike it all we want

LOL Minkah Fitzpatrick? Who was how many years younger and cheaper when the deal was made? No comparison of the trade tbh.

I absolutely hate the Ramsey trade, am puzzled a bit about Floyd and Wagner being cut and dont know how theyll manage the cap.
All that said, its still a grade of INC

SPECULATION THREAD

Yeah ok - LMAO

How many times will it change.
Glad he is gone & happy that he goes to a place he will make an impact.

You know if this Draft Pick is from the Dolphins getting the pick for MM - there HC makes me upset.
Then again if they had there first rd pick maybe The Rams could have switched picks at the least.

I love the Rams as an underdog. As the team nobody expects to do shit. Because it is entirely possible they get the line and secondary sorted this offseason and if those two things happen we're a playoff team.

Nobody is that far off if they have a good coach and a QB. Worried about the QB's health but we have both. It's gonna be a tough season most likely but it's not like with Fisher where we don't have a chance. Let's wait and see what the roster looks like leading into camp before we shit our pants.

The Rams reset their cap for next year. It had to happen sooner or later. But that isn't to say this roster isn't playoff caliber. I say again, I think people underestimate how good the talent is on the OL when talking about the core players on the roster. Noteboom is a very good LT when he's healthy. Jackson can play well at OT or OG which is amazing. I've been saying it for a long time but Jackson is better right now than Havenstein. They only play Havenstein because of his cap number not his talent. IMO they should sit his heavy footed ass and play Jackson at RT this year. Allen is underrated and his only problem is he can't stay healthy. Losing Shelton hurts because of that. At OG they have Thomas and Bruss, two young guys that have upsides.

LT Noteboom
LG Thomas
C Allen
RG Bruss
RT Jackson

That is a decent OL. If they re-sign Toner to back up Allen that might be their fallback option. But I see them drafting a center with that Miami pick. They now have the ability to make an offer to Ngakoue and backload his contract. Use their second round pick on another edge and this team will be fine on the DL if they re-sign Gaines. Gaines is their follow-up DT to Donald so his extension IMO should have been done last year. Gaines is one of the most underrated DTs in the league and will draw a lot of attention as a FA. He will get his $8M this year somewhere and be worth every penny. If they lose Gaines that will be a bigger loss than Ramsey.

QB1 & QB2 is a huge concern, one that can be mitigated long term with Mayfield. If the Rams are going to roll the dice on Stafford's health, IMO a bad bet, then they will probably draft a QB2 in the fifth round. My choice would be Clayton Tune. Tune is everything they wish Wolford was and isn't. He's good enough to come in and win games in spot duty.

What Snead does or doesn't do in FA and the draft will dictate what this season will be like. But I find it unlikely he would squander Donald's last season by not making a legit effort to return to the Super Bowl. It would only take maybe 3 or 4 players to get them back into contention and they don't have to be mega splash signings. The core of this roster is far better than the media and most fans realize.

I'll take another year of pain for the Lombardi! Not a bad price to pay. I always bag on the Bears owner for not spending money on the team or the stadium. We have an owner that will spend any amount of money to win a championship. We are so lucky! We got this guys!

That's the scary part. Who's next to be given away?
Well Long was a 3rd round pick a couples years ago so he's a young player. So Ramsey for 2 3rd rounds picks more or less. With CB no longer viewed as a position you need a lock down type player I think it's all you can expect from a trade like this. McVay knows TE's so I'm assuming he liked him coming out in 2021. I think the trade is a good one for the Rams overall.
A reasonable inference is that the Rams specifically wanted Hunter Long more than another say mid or lower third rounder.
