I hate to bring up the only negative thing that’s in my mind but come on Sam ficken!!!!!!!!! This guy is gonna cost us a game. I don’t have confidence in him and I just feel like when you’ve got a team like ours who is competing to win every week that we could find a better kicker....I’m not down on the kid but to me I feel it’s better suited for a team like ours is to have an experienced nfl kicker who has experience....kai forbath.....Blair Walsh....teveccio?..Connor Barth??? I just feel we need someone who has kicked more then 3 career field goals

And who would that "someone" be?

If there is too much concern, just do 2 point conversions. If we only convert half of them, it's the same as converting all extra points, pretty much. Too far out for a 3 pointer, make the decision to go for it on 4th down in some instances...

The Rams can do this.

glad the vikings game is in LA. after being humiliated at home, a road game may have been a lot tougher to deal with. robert woods is a very good receiver. this is probably the best set of receivers in about 10 years if not more. cant wait til the TE"s get more involved.

He went 4/4? On xpts. Yea he missed his only fg attempt but I think the fact that the only needed 1 fg attempt in a game where they only punted once says a lot about how important a great kicker really is with this offense. And with an all pro kicker coming back in a few weeks it’s even less important to get a stud out there. As long as he hits his xpts and an average rate of fgs I really don’t see the problem nor why everyone keeps complaining about him

Not the real issue.
Everyone loves their kicker.....until they don't.
Many here had Zuerline in the unfixable headcase category before last year.
The real question is if Peters and Talib are out for meaningful time how does this affect the D?
Wade wants to play straight man coverage. The further down the depth chart you go, the less likely that becomes. To me more zone means more blitzes, which means more risk taking.
The pass rush, for a variety of reasons, largely isn't getting there so far. That man coverage ability of those guys is forcing check downs.
How playing a team like the Vikings without your top two CBs....that's the real question.
Not Ficken

With this incredible offense we have, all I want from our kicker is to make the extra points and kick the ball far and straight down the middle on kickoffs. Everything else is gravy.
GZ spoiled us last year once we passed the opponent's 40 yard line, but we have the offense to go for 4th downs at will if we wanted to.

Also 5/5 on XPS is nothing to scoff at considering the state of kickers around the league, we'll be fine.

With the way the Rams move the ball on offense, our kicker shouldn't sink us.

Get well soon anyway, GZ.
