I've noticed that especially with a lot of new members posting and enjoying this active and great community of Rams fans that the use of the Chill and Different Opinion have gone way up.

I don't really mind it, but it confuses me especially with so many using the site on mobile and the accidental pushes especially with the Chill and Inappropriate so close to where people scroll. Mobile is a huge reason why I can post as much as I do even when I can't be on my comp for weeks at a time.

Is it reasonable to ask members if they disagree to quote the person and actually state the disagreement?

I suppose some prefer to just register their disagreement without going into it, but it hasn't been the SOP for members to do that very much in the past and, quite honestly, it's kinda confusing right now.

When I see it, I have no idea if it was a mistake, misclick, legit difference of opinion or even a hostility to the position referenced in the post.

Is it reasonable to ask for clarification if members disagree?

I realize that folks may just wanna click and move on, but since that's not really how this place worked for years in the past, I'm trying to understand.

Is this the new normal or is it reasonable to make this ask?

Agree with this. However we can encourage members to explain why they don't agree with something but we can't really force anyone to do that. Btw "different opinion" used to be "dislike" so it's an improvement.

I do believe when someone gives out a "chill" or an "inappropriate" they should have to explain their reasoning but again we can't force anyone to do that.

Doesn't bother me, I liken it to "Agree to disagree" without devolving into a pissing contest, as is so prevalent with the inter-webs these days.

This forum is fun, not to mention educational de temps en temps, so diversity of opinion is more than welcome ... even when it's not rational ;)

My opinion - you know who gave you whatever rating, so if you care, just ask 'em.
If they don't answer, c'est la vie. If they do and you disagree...you know where the button is.:boxing:

Personally, if I don't get at least one chill a month, I feel I'm not doing my job!

You need to “chill”, I think this post is calling out people and is “inappropriate”, lastly everyone is entitled to their “different opinions”. Just had to give you all 3 in this 1 post...:):):)
 
Doesn't bother me one bit if someone gives me an "inappropriate, different opinion or chill". :argue: Not up to my instigating standards if I don't get one now and then. :neener: It does liven up the board when conversation gets dull.:redcard:

Like my old drill sargent used to say, "I got more azz than they got teeth".:rolllaugh:

I have a separate request instead of this emoji :poop: it should be a steaming pile on a Niners helm. How bad are they! Lost twice to Arizona, their only wins. Arizona has scored 110 points in 8 games but 46 in those two wins. This really needs to happen and it’ll be a valid option.

holy chit...just realizing the Cards pulled that one out. Last I saw SF was up with under 2 minutes to go, and thought, aint no way the Cardinals will score.
