Trading out of the 1st round without a pick until Friday would kind of stink.

But, feels 50/50 possible to me.
This^ and we will wait with anticipation and boom, we will trade down and poof the pick will be gone. However, we will then come to ROD and communicate that Les Snead is a Genius and we really didn't like Jaxson Dart anyways.

Yes That would be a bummer late Thursday night. But it would make Friday even more fun/exciting.

i can't wait because it gives us something solid to talk and read about after 2+ months of
trying to fill the days and threads with substance nfl wise... it's no mans land for us hardcore ram fans...

after the draft i love reading different takes even though i usually agree with the positive ones, cuz i don't
pay close attention to college ball...

and it definitely primes me for camp and preseason so i can do my own evaluations...

so bring on the draft... i think the timing is a perfect way of geting us through the desert that is the offseason...
now we have subjects to pull us out of the funk...

go rams

Yes, it would make for a less then awesome Thursday, but I'd be a bit excited about the additional picks. Top of 2nd is not much different then 26 to me. I'd say its more 65/35 that we try to trade down, whether there is a taker is another story.

65/35 is a fair estimate. A second and a third just makes too much sense. I also think Dart will be drafted before Sanders. Who knows maybe we draft Ewers in the 2nd or 3rd. Not sure how strong his arm is though. The prospect of Stafford retiring without a prospective future QB on the roster is terrifying...

dont we have enough threads discussing this?

The correct answer is "Yes, we do, so I wont clutter up this thread"

Good chance of that yes. But groupthink is a very powerful thing. Sanders is a middling armed pocket QB from an iffy ass college system whose greatest strength is quick distribution of the ball, but how much of that is him. And when the fuck have guys with iffy arms who are pocket QBs gone high first round.

It is absurd. He is not a high first round prospect. Only reason people have him there is because the Emperor's Clothes effect that derives from his Pop. But Shedur is not Prime Time. He's a black Kirk Cousins.

Dart has plenty of his own issues but he's not elevated by the family name. Rather he is elevated by his play under pressure and the fact he's got a suddenness in his mobility that will play well in the NFL. I don't think his arm is particularly strong either, in other words he's not that QB type who usually goes high in the draft. But he is the type of QB who may end up being a good starter, as performance under pressure and his pocket presence are shit that are hard to teach.

By the way I suspect the Rams will come out of this draft with Rourke. He's got the size. He can make the throws. The knee is a horror show however he'll come off mid to late round which fits with a team who is contending. And he's got that pocket presence I like in a QB.
