To all our FLA/GA/SC/NC ROD brothers, batten down the hatches and get out of harms way. This looks like a good one. I have three comfortable couches if any of you on the coast suddenly find yourself in need of shelter. I also have two refrigerators so beer storage won't be an issue! (y)

Bang goes my bonus if this fucker hits the coast badly. I realise this might be construed as a bad attitude!

I'm on the other coast, SWFL, and there has been LOADS of people coming over to escape since the locals were asked to evacuate, probably more will show up today. Hard to find a hotel room right now though I would think. This is a powerful storm, it's already killed about 100 people.

Since I'm on the Gulf of Mexico we will see some wind and rain that will about 25+ MPH and maybe there will be a couple inches of rain. Nothing like what the east coast is going to see. Typically that's how it works over here when the other coast gets hit by a hurricane. We get one day of bad weather.

@HX76 what do you mean about your bonus.

They're calling for 100 mph winds at my house tonight. This one is no joke.

I'll post my hurricane evaluation plan when I get home in a few hours.

I get a bonus at work every March, our results won't be as good if this hurricane is bad (I work for a Lloyd's syndicate).

Well this looks like it's going to be big enough to do some damage for sure. Hopefully it'll have enough common sense to leave your customers alone :)

Cheers pal, although I doubt it!

Yeah, stay safe everyone. Got friends in Jacksonville that I'm pretty worried about.

And yeah, if it hits Daytona Beach, Orlando and the center of the state is gonna get hit really hard, especially if landfall is at the estimated 145mph they are estimating, which is nearly a cat 5.

Again, be safe everyone.

I close on my old house tomorrow at 1pm. I hope I get the papers signed in time.

This is the Hurricane Evacuation Plan that I have posted in my garage. It's about a foot square in size.

Stay safe man, ... and by all means keep the smoke dry.

I've always wondered why they zone for mobile homes in hurricane & tornado country ?

We just lost power.... wasn't expecting that till tomorrow.

Fuck.

That shit ALWAYS happens at night too.
I went through a half dozen hurricanes down there, and always lost power at night.

The storm is hitting hard now. They say till about 3 am. kind of intense.

Do you keep a generator handy ? You know, for important stuff like beer and recharging the computer & phone.

Starting to feel it, Im just north of Orlando in Altamonte Springs. Last I heard the eye wall was 5 miles from Cape Canaveral. Got beer so we will make it.
