It's not a matter of if we do something at WR, it's HOW. It is a massive problem.

Even if Kupp were staying, it would be a problem. Without him, and factoring in Whittingtons injury history (and the fact that while he flashed, he hasn't "arrived" by any means), and Pukas penchant for getting banged up....it's downright terrifying.

Demarcus is fine depth, but preferably a 4th WR.

So by my estimation, we need two WRs who can actually contribute next season.

With Higgins franchised, the free agents aren't looking good. And any on the younger side are likely to be overpriced.

To make matters worse, there doesn't seem to be a great option there with our first round picks (as an Ohio St fan I want to stay away from Ebuka).

My opinions aside - if the question was how do we find two WRs who can contribute (one starter, one who may have to start in a pinch), how are you solving that problem?

I threw Kirk's name out there as a cheap option earlier today. I wouldn't necessarily suggest someone like that if we didn't have the questions we do like D Robinson being suspended, Tutu gone, Kupp most likely gone as well. I think the Rams will have to be smart not to get caught in any crazy bidding wars unless they think said player is a blue chip player for us. Gonna be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Kupp is not done, he can still play at a high level. Don't be too smart by half Rams.

Man, good question. I think we need to get DRob back for sure. He adds swag and is a legit #3. Not sure who is viable as an X type. Diggs would be my choice if it weren't for his attitude. Godwin is an unknown after that injury.

Rams definitely have their work cut out for them, but there are plenty of free agent options.

What's wrong with Egbuka?

Higgins gets franchised and suddenly there’s 0 FA WR options. I disagree especially as the list continues to grow as players get released.

. It is a massive problem.
I see it as a hole in the roster, but not a problem.

Rams still have plenty of cap space and draft capital.

I'd imagine that re-signing DRob is a plus, since he seems like a good fit. I thought I remembered him saying he wanted to stay here.

Lot of FA options out there. Replacing the 2024 production of Kupp and Tutu seems doable IMO.

I got a feeling this board is gonna be pretty damn happy with the Rams moves this off-season.

Why?

One of:
Davante Adams
Darius Slayton
Stefon Diggs
Hollywood Brown
Elijah Moore

And draft a receiver with one of the first two picks and we're good.

Wouldn’t be mad at DA for a lower price than what he probably wants.

Elijah Moore is somewhat intriguing to me. Has the abilities, but has been on dumpster teams.

Hell no to Diggs

Yeah I think DA will get a fair deal but he won't break the bank. We have the cap.

Elijah Moore and Darius Slayton kinda remind me of Jerry Jeudy. Just feed to get away from their previous offenses.

Diggs is diggs I guess. He was very well loved in Houston. I'd give him a one year prove it.

Jalen Royals might be a reach at 26, although I have seen him listed as a top 40, guy so may not be that big a reach in this draft where not much difference between 25 & 75. After a small trade down, he could be a target.

Anyway, this kid fits our needs and what McVay likes.

Aggressive hands - McVay mentioned this in his presser about traits they like. Royals goes and gets the ball, catching it away from his body.

Big play ability - run after catch is evident, bubble screens & quick alants he turns into big plays.

Deep speed - he ran well at the combine and his tape shows homerun ability.

He looks like a perfect fit for this offense and a good compliment to Puka.

Draft one receiver and one stud move Tight End and a a taller, pass catching RB with speed.

In free agency they could go after Juan Johnson or Mike Gesicki at TE. I'm not sure if Jonnu Smith is a free agent.
They could sign a receiver like Elijah Moore or trade for Tee Higgins.

I think k they will have enough options between FA and the draft.

Give us the deets on Ebuka!

Mentioned this in another thread, Rams don't do many things by rule in the draft but they do have a habit of shotgunning positions - corner, one year; OL another; OLB - I suspect we may go to the well at pass catcher at least three different times this draft ala the Tutu/Harris/Skow draft. Now, that only marginally worked out but it hasn't stopped Snead from shotgunning other positions since.

I say pass catcher cause I suspect one will come from the TE class with the depth it has this year.

Perhaps we draft a TE and move to a more balance offense between 11 and 12 personnel.

Personally, I hope we finally pound the rock in the way they were trying to set us up for when they signed Jackson. Then running much more play action and screens out of 12

Exactly.
Higgins being franchised is probably the best thing for the Rams. He’s terribly over rated and will get massively over paid. Glad it won’t be the Rams who will be doing it.
