Where do we play him? We already have Verse, Young, and Stewart, and I think we still think highly of Jackson. On the line, there's Turner, Fiske, and Ford as starters.

And at his current age? Not interested.

If Cincy calls his bluff he's fucked.

They should have paid him instead of Higgins … joe put the pressure on them and made them sign both higgins and chase

Imagine Fisk Turner and Verse coming at you with Hendrickson as well.

Get er done.

Easily over Young. Snead and McVay look for game breaking players and Hendrickson qualifies.

That said, he would be a big investment in draft capital and money and I'd rather see that invested into the secondary.

Any additional moves this year should be to strengthen CB and OT. Hendrickson is a luxury the Rams cannot afford.
So was Von Miller.

That extra pass rush could be the difference in playoff team and Super Bowl team.

Not that I expect us to make this move.

Back to the Ramsey thread I go :crying:

"So was Von Miller."

Good point.

If my memory serves me correctly, I don't know if the Rams win the SB vs Bengals without the pressures that Von Miller produced.

Hey, if we can get him cheap and he wants a ring, I'd be okay with McSnead exploring the possibility.

As terrific as Trey Hendrickson is, he does not seem like a good fit to me.

In 2021, the Rams had Obo Okoronkwo, Terrell Lewis and Justin Hollins at Edge opposite Leonard Floyd.
Von Miller was an expensive acquisition (2nd and 3rd round picks for a pending free agent) but he made a good position a major strength ... once he got healthy.

Hendrickson figures to be very marketable (imagine what the Lions might give-up to pair him with Hutchinson), and very expensive. Although, he would up-grade pretty much any team, Hendrickson makes a very strong (and deep position) stronger, with too much depth.

I say "too much depth" because there are only so many snaps for a team's two Edge players. Checking the stats, both Verse and Hendrickson played 75% of their team's defensive snaps last season. That would leave only 50% for Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart. That's not much playing-time for either (baring injury).

Again, Hendrickson is terrific but it seems like a poor use of valuable resources (draft capital and cap space).

I don't think they'd be able to afford him.

It also isn't a seamless change from Young to Hendrickson. Young dropped into coverage roughly 126 times last season. Far more than Hendrickson (33) and Verse (26). So you're either asking Shula to adjust his scheme and personnel packages, or you're putting (most likely) Verse in a different role. The Von Miller signing worked because Floyd was already the "do it all" type.

I think a good coordinator adjusts to the skill set of his players.

Trey Hendrickson has 17.5 sacks each of the last two years and a Pass rush win rate 2nd in the NFL ahead of players like Parsons, Garrett, and Nick Bosa.

Hendrickson had 5 more sacks last year then Verse and Young combined.

He’s a Superstar that immediately changes a defense.

So if the Rams found a way to move some contracts around I wouldn’t complain.
