So settle for sub par? And you surely can't say there isn't anything better out there.
Oh, there is something better out there, in High School.
He is like a PGA golfer that can blast 375 yard drives, but not quite sure where they will go.
Then when he is on the green, standing over a 20 foot put for birdie, the mind games start.
He has talent, just not sure he will get over this.
And I want playoffs !
Him having a terrible warm up, kicking at air defenders is bothersome. A really bad sign.

Crosby was 25 of 29 on FG's last year (86%). 3 of those misses were from 50+. So, Crosby was 24 of 25 from 49 yards or less. And he was 37 of 39 on XP's.

If Crosby could replicate his performance of last year, I'm sure most of us would love to have that.

Yeah Crosby is old as dirt (in football years anyway :wow2:). But we all know how much kicking is about mentality and the ability to come through under pressure. Crosby has proven track record, and I'd trust him more than Havrisik to come through in crunch time.

I predict the Rams will re-sign Crosby either this week or next, and give up on the Havrisik experiment.

Thank you. Can't believe anyone backing this sorry ass kicker. He will choke big time if we take him to the playoffs. We need someone reliable even if they don't have the killer leg strength to kick the long ones. Accuracy is way more important and our kicker is no where near being reliable.

I've yet to see anybody backing him.

backing him... not exactly.

But like yourself I see a couple people saying there likely isn't any better.

I have trouble believing that conclusion.

There are some dudes with some warts... but I bet they could kick a 43 FG and not shank it 10 yards to the right.

Yeah questioning other options isn't backing this guy and sorry if people think I'm endorsing him. With how many teams have kicking issues I find it hard to believe anybody out there is any better. Or again they'd be kicking on Sunday. Anybody projecting that statement as me thinking Havrisik is good is just not paying attention. Any kicker not on an active roster and a lot of them active will shank shit wide right.

Crosby couldn't out kick him last week but we're supposed to believe he's better? Lol go to YouTube and look for videos of his miss streak.

The guy I wanted them to sign in camp I believe is still on the Browns PS

@HE WITH HORNS Look. This thread is just an add on. I'll leave it but I'm not leaving it up with one of the answers calling one of our current players "trash". Everyone knows that is against our rules. Knock that shit off.

I wonder if Crosby got outkicked during the week, but would have less of that "the game is too big for him" thing McVay talks about, and if his big-game experience would kick in and help us more down the stretch.

listening to McVay doesn't seem like they are moving from him yet.

I think it could be a disaster... hope I'm wrong.

My guess is Havrisuk got hot during the week and looked great.
And that was a fluke. As shown by the scattershot kicks in the game.
I say pull the plug.

IIRC, Matt Gay had a rough start and everyone wanted to can him before he got consistent.

He missed nothing against the Ravens. Let the guy alone and see where it goes!
