Just saw the NFL awarded Netflix the Christmas Day games. Thanks Roger. In order to compensate his $50+m annual salary you now have to pay $70 a month for local broadcasting to receive in market games and Monday Night football. $16 a month for Amazon for Thursday night games. $389 for YouTube Sunday Ticket, and now additional money for Christmas day games if you dont already have Netflix. Goodell's personal greed, outrageous contracts (especially QBs) are making it difficult to afford all the programming if you're a pro football junkie. Is it just me or is anyone else getting tired of being fucked as fans as corporate greed takes over?

And I didn't even add the likely playoff game or 2 that you will probably need a Peacock subscription to watch.

Until the consumers (us) stop forking out additional monies for sporting events and entertainment. The industry is going to continue to take advantage of their subscribers. Perfect example, amazon is now pushing ads on their paid content, and now want us to pay a premium to be able to go advertisement free.

I did them one better. I downloaded Plex and Kodi, and now for a small monthly fee I get everything for about $6 a month. I since then cancelled all my subscriptions which has saved me about $250+ a month. F them apps

Goodell's greed?
Too funny
Salary cap just went up by leaps and bounds, guess how?
Goodell isnt a likeable guy but his job is to increase revenue for the league, so the players and owners can make their $$$
Goodell has a new contract that calls for $200m over 3 years. Greed by everyone and the fans get fucked. I'm just venting about the expense of having to pay outrageous prices so a few can make millions. I am retired Air Force (enlisted), live on a fixed income, been a lifelong NFL fan, and can't even fathom going to an actual game in person anymore. Like I said, just venting.

Well, it's owners greed not Goodell really. But yeah, I was really hoping the NFL would create a better way to watch all football games after getting out from under Direct tv. I still prefer this to how it used to be because I have most of those subs but can also activate and deactivate easily online when needed every month without having to do a contract or deal with shitty customer support. But they still made it needlessly complicating to simply be able to watch all games.

1. Nothing to do with Goodell’s “greed.”

2. This is capitalism, pure and simple.

3. We have more access to watching our team play on TV than ever before. As someone who has never lived in L.A. or St. Louis, I was limited to an occasional “game of the week” and night games. Now, I can watch every game on TV.

You don't have an equivalent of Game Pass in the US, do you?

I just pay one subscription and watch every game (live or on replay), with the exception of the live games covered by Sky here in the UK.

Since 1994 you could get the Sunday ticket....

Not the same unfortunately. International game pass they just have to pay for that and get every game no matter what. Sunday ticket you had to have a directv contract which was over $1000 in expense just for the right to have sunday ticket and then you had their dumb black out rules that would make some games not shown. Now you can buy sunday ticket through youtube but as mentioned previously you have to have multiple subs to different services to truly get all games.

I already have Netflix. But expect it to go up even more than the $22.95 they're charging me. I have Prime too. But expect there to be different streaming service that I don't have and don't want to pay more for. If I signed up for every streaming service out there I wouldn't be able to afford the internet it takes to use it.

DTV would typically give me the ticket for free. I got the minimum package and it was like $65.00 a month. Not bad at all....

I stop subscribing to cable long ago. It's Netflix, Prime and YTTV. It is what it is.

It is tough for individuals who do not have the means, however, you can play the game and subscribe and then cancel the day after. Done that a few times with Peacock. The streaming platforms are shared by many and even with them cracking down on it, many are still doing it.

So @muggmeister I am sure you have a friend or relative that has Netflix, ask if you can use their info albeit for just one day and you should not have much of an issue.

Free online streaming sites for me. I’ve never missed a game (although I’ve definitely missed a few plays when things buffer or get weird on occasion). I have an antenna which is nice when the Rams are nationally broadcast to my area.

His job is to make the nfl money. Like him or not he does that very well.

Goodell is on my shit list for the first Pats Spygate shit and his cringey ass DEI BS.
