Aikman even taking a shot at Fisher. Quote: "If you're going to put that much stock in a draft pick (Goff), you better have someone on your staff who can coach him up." Truer words couldn't have been said.

And nothing you suggest would be realistic as in teams trading for Tavon. Or help the team as in us trading Gurley. Just not going to happen no GM in the world would do that. This team isn't as bad as people are making them out to be. The coaching is that bad. Put a good coach in there and let him bring in some quality assistants and this team is winning.

Nothing I suggested ? You clearly agree with me on the coaches so that's something. What do you not agree with then ? Trading Austin and Gurley for picks ? I can see maybe Austin wouldn't get us much (especially with his new salary) but I truly believe Gurley could fetch us some nice picks. Im sorry but I'm just not a fan of Tavon. He makes a few plays here and there but not much and they don't always make up for his regular mental errors and drops. He doesn't have the size to win contested catches. He's a gadget guy, plain and simple. I love Gurley though. I really do but I think we have bigger needs that could contribute more to the overall success of the team right now.
Moving Grob inside would probably improve our running game too. It's worth trying and I don't see why that is unrealistic either.
If we don't do something to address our lack of draft picks next year I don't see much room to improve.

After watching the warmups live in person and seeing the difference in ball trajectory/speed. If Jared Goff doesn't start after the bye Jeff Fisher should be fired.

Well just finished watching the game

THAT SUCKED

ok..done here

After JPP essentially blew up the pocket. I get that JPP is a great player... but shouldn't our 2nd overall be great??

Maybe Keenum ran into the sack there... but why is our 2nd overall LT being driven 8 yards back into the pocket?

Robinson did his job on the play. It wasn't his guy that got the sack. If you watch the play from a different angle, Havenstein's guy forced Keenum that direction, while someone else (Barnes, I think) wasn't able to contain his guy.

I know it's fun to rip on GRob around here, but he did his job on that play. Find another scapegoat.

Edit: Looking at the play again, Barnes and Saffold had a double-team on the guy that got the sack, Saffold let him go and then he got around Barnes.

But yeah, GRob's fault.

X should make one of those "Thanks, GRob" memes like he did with the "Thanks Schotty" meme a couple seasons back.

He's not great. But he kept himself between JPP and the QB then put JPP on the ground. Keenum had a pocket to step up into. He just didn't. I'm content with Greg on that play.

The thing that drives me nuts is the dumb plays. How does Quick not get the signal in that situation? It absolutely blows my mind. I know he's been doing well so I can't hammer him too hard. But damn man you can't miss that.

In TC the difference in arm talent was very evident, Goff looks like a natural QB, the footwork, the fololw through, accuracy. With more reps in PS he would have developed a better command of the huddle, which is the only thing I could imagine is keeping him off the field.

Fuck me, I couldn't make it through 3 pages of this tripe. Woe is me, woe is me. As bad as case and fisher were today and pretty much every week, this thread is much worse.

It's called the vent thread. It's literally here for that reason. Nobody forces you to read it. It's like going into McDonalds and bitching because they only have fast food.

Someone needs to tell Case that you aren't supposed to throw floaters in the middle of the field, especially in the red zone. After the first one would've been the appropriate time, or how about in practice?
ESPECIALLY that floater hail Mary bomb that dropped into the end zone, with NO ONE there. He threw that floater like it was a jump ball in the final second of the game! (we had line 1:40 left, if memory serves...:wtf:

I don't know... I see GRob being driven back and in, and while threw JPP down he got an assist ftom Saffold on it. If he holds the pocket, or keeps JPP driving on the outside instead of the inside, the stunt would have to go all the way around to get to Keenum and indeed the whole middle would have opened up.

Bah. Whatever.

I saw the same and I'm no QB expert

I don't mind venting, that's why I was reading it. But when people complain about every single thing, over and over, in multiple posts about the team it's beyond venting, it's ramstalk.

Greg isn't Joe Thomas. I have realistic expectations for the guy. He controlled his man and put him on the ground. Keenum could have stepped up. There was room for Keenum to climb the pocket. Keenum misplayed it. Greg did well enough.

I'm fine with Greg giving up ground if he keeps his man engaged and controls him.
