I bet Stafford would love to play against his own defense. No need to read the D, just throw to one of the few wide open guys under the shell.

Our offense would be right back on track.

There is a reason every team plays tight coverage against us.

Oh, and McVay needs to take his head out so he can salvage wins that this D scheme tries to give away.

I think we can agree the defense overall played well enough to win. But we have to concede its not a clutch defense that can get stops when they need it.

Always and indefinitely apparently. I’m not trying to be a dick but some folks just don’t understand the word team and phases of team and how it works.

I remember hearing this crap when Fisher had the D and ST rolling and the offense was inept. “The defense blew the game! They blew a 10-3 lead!”

Doesn't excuse the defense at the end is simply my point. We are a hot mess no matter how you look at it.

Do I like the calls? Absolutely not. I don't know why the last drive wasn't called differently. But I also don't know why we only had -2 yards in the 4th quarter. And as far as I'm concerned that stat right there takes most of the blame for this loss.

Ehhh idk it worked exactly like that in the post season a year ago with a good offense.

You know what when Morris is gone, AD is gone Ramsey is gone. Mark my words people are going to reflect back to when we won a SB because of our Defense. Its going to be laughable.
 
Our team is a mess. Our offense can't get shit going outside of Kupp and our defense couldn't make a stop at the end of this game to save us at the end. It's going to be a long year. Maybe I'll just watch re-runs of last year to ease the pain lol

We are already reflecting on that lol......this ain't our year without a couple of miracles. Wish we could at least defend our crown with more dignity.

How bout the offense?
Special teams?

These phases of the team are never perfect. They exist to support each other and sometimes on any given Sunday one or two or all of them are forced to step up.

The offense has been bad from the get go. Consistently the problem every week. That is how I arrived at that.

As for your last quip, I read a lot on this board, including a gazillion posts every year that imo are nonsense and stated as fact. Am I being lectured by those folks? Nope. Moderators have the right to opinions just as you and other members. Deal with it.

It takes all three phases we all know that. Defense is playing good enough to win. ST doesn't usually hurt us. We can't compete offensively in todays NFL.

People saying we held TB to one TD - have you seen their offense this year? They’ve been pretty bad. The point is, at the end of the game, we had the offense fail us, and the defense couldn’t get the job done. This game is on both sides of the ball. I’m just personally sick of seeing the same exact coverages every snap. I’m equally sick of seeing an unimaginative sad excuse for an offense.
