Last season drug on a bit. I used to read this genre of literature and the jumping around was what finally got me to quit reading it. I don't know why it became the norm for fantasy fiction to have so many subplots. The best book FF book I have ever read was Elfstones of Shanara. It was based on here main characters. You got to feel like you intimately knew each one. They became part of you. Terry Brooks is a master.

But I am not saying that I dont like Game of Thrones. It is the best show of its type that I have ever seen. It does leave me a bit disappointed with some episodes though.

My kid showed me a sight that does parody movie trailers ,the one on G.O.T. included a line about how the mother of dragons avenges her family .......................eventually, LMAO
Why are these types of series so expensive? Cuz you can't offset cost with product placement:p, I mean the biggest drunks in True Detective and The Wire drink Jamison, lil pricey for swillers I calculate:cool:

I am tempted to buy the books and read the series. This has me wanting to know what is next.......and what I missed. Does it follow the books very closely? And which book is this season on? I haven't searched for any yet.

This last episode was pretty good. Got to see some fighting. Loved Arya naming the Hound at the end of her dead list. John Snow got his wolf back. I hope that wolf kills the leader of the the Black Guard now. Never knew Hodor was so bad ass.

the story follows the books pretty closely. I read them all but it was a few years ago, so stuff that is happening now I had forgotten about.

I love this show. Don't know what you guys are talking about. Love it when a show takes time to build a story like a narrative and character arcs rather than just hitting you over the head with action. Makes it interesting, deep, and allows you to get invested...and then when the action comes, it's that much more gratifying. GOT, like The Wire, does an amazing job of it.
They really develop the characters in detail in GOT. Love it!

Is it true that Jeoffrey In Real Life wanted to quite acting and go to school and so they killed him? Or is that how the books went?

You guys want to do WHAT to bunnies?!

(And... maybe about a third of the people reading this will understand me bringing up bunnies...)

The story does follow the books, but once you read them, you'll realize that HBO does dilute some stuff. Danaerys is the story that deviates farthest from the book. In the first book, for example, danaerys takes drogo outside and rides him in a front of the whole Khalasar. You don't see that in the show, as there is a limit to how explicit they can get.

The book is dense, and once you start reading, it's hard to put down.

For anyone that watches the show like myself, HBO posts on their youtube channel inside the episodes each week. It has the producers and writers of the show talk about and explain things in the episode. Very nice insight to see why they do things a certain way, especially in episode 2 of this season. Here's the one from this week. I recommend watching all of them.
