Doesn’t that apply to everyone?

Not really. We're talking about a 6'6", 325 lbs. mountain of a man (some sites have him listed at 330 lbs.) who has astonishing athleticism for someone his size. Ersery's always had the talent to go first round; he only needed consistency in his pass sets, and he may have finally unlocked it - remember that he's only been playing football for six years, and he's a redshirt junior.

He's only going to get better from here, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him go top twenty if he impresses at the Senior Bowl and Combine. If so, and if Will Campbell isn't available to us after a trade down, I think I'd pivot to Ersery.

If we’re looking at potential left tackles in the third round, Anthony Belton (North Carolina State) is an intriguing option. Huge kid (6’6” 335 lbs.), immense mean streak, dominant run blocker. Still a bit of a work in progress with pass sets, but has potential there as well.

Are ya'll interested in signing A-Jax long term and using our picks on other needs? Seems to be the optimal choice. We already have a good young LT (oft injured however).

That sounds a lot like the gamble we took with Noteboom.

…but I’m not entirely against it.

Long term not me personally but a couple years if they feel they aren't going to get a LT this year then sure. I don't think he's the answer long term personally.

Noteboom wasn’t playing bad when he was signed. He wasn’t great, but he was doing ok
Based on his play, I did not want the Rams to sign him long term as their tackle of the future. However, they had little choice. They didn’t have many options from free agency not a lot of cap room.

He wasn’t signed because he was playing at a high level.

What does he do well? I always get people lashing back and claiming he’s a good tackle. But nobody specifically tells me what he is do good at that makes them think he’s good.

I can tell you why I think he’s not a starting left tackle, or why he needs to remain as a backup.

There’s no doubt that AJ is a better left tackle.
I just wish he was more reliable.
