$3.99 here in RI

sucks filling up my 36 gallon tank

I paid $5.20 usd / gallon all converted for premium.

I think that’s still today’s prices… that was last weekend what I paid.
That's close to what we pay here in Sacramento. Sometimes you can still find premium at $5 a gallon / $1.25/litre.

I believe the premium is $4.75 at Costco in Sac if you have a membership.

$3.50 ish at Sams and Costco, $4 ish around town.

I do have a membership. However, it's out of the way (Arden and I live in Natomas) and I don't want to wait 15 minutes in line. But good suggestion nonetheless.

$4.59 for 93 in Maryland......like a lot of you have said, it is going to get worse.

$3.85 for 87 octane and $3.95 for diesel here in Colorado Sprints.

It‘s a shame that politics and greed are hitting all of us. Someday scientist will discover renewable, cheap, non polluting, and accessible energy source. Well Star Trek has me believing this will happen

Just got a notice from Costco in my area that they are discontinuing diesel sales.

North Carolina here. 2 weeks ago paid $3.99/gal for premium 93 octane (both my cars are tuned for 93). 2 days ago it jumped to $4.29/gal. I kinda expect it to be higher the next time.....:injury:

Oil companies always robbing us smaller guys. No reason for gas to cost so much. It's all BS.

Well it finally spiked. 3.50 regular. Damn.

I work in O&G. There's so many layers to this, and this is only a fraction of the reason. The oil market is waaaaaayyyy more fluid than the actual damn oil.

You aren't lying. I remember paying $1 a gallon. Crazy how much and quickly times change.

My Lincoln SUV has to run on premium. Paid $4.85 in central California 3 days ago. Up from $4.65 the previous fillup a couple weeks earlier.

Everything's higher in California. I was getting a check engine light. The code said possible catalytic converter which would cause it to fail the smog test. I was lucky it only turned out to be the O2 sensors. Changed all 4 and it passed.

But searching for cat prices I found out if I was in another state it would be about 500 bucks less than California. Companies won't ship here unless its approved for this state.

well the spike just hit us

was 3.99 for reg. unleaded the other day...went for my weekly fill up today and it was 4.29

30 gallons @4.29...uggg

When I was about 4 or 5 years old I remember the Citgo having gas @ 0.88 in the early 90s. That was 30 years ago, so of course everything has risen from "natural" inflation, and of course other factors too.

I remember I was a senior in high school just 2 years after getting my license in 2007, and we thought $2.50 was insane. Then 2008 happened w/ prices at what they are now. Went back down again eventually.

People forget that in 2020 not only was demand super low w/ all the shutdown, but Saudi also released a TON of oil, so the world had a huge surplus. It was a double punch in the mouth to O&G. West Texas basically shut down. A ton of people were laid off b/c there was no oil production. I mean yeah you had less than $2.00 gas but lets not pretend like it was some glorious time (as what some people allude to). 2021 would be closer to "normal" market conditions. 2019 was around the same too, IIRC.

This is horrible timing for the war. Prices go up anyway right before summer as demand goes up (and this year especially b/c of covid restrictions finally lifted and people want to get out again), plus they switch over to summer blend. You also have truck driver shortages, worker shortages, etc and it all an effect on the end price.

Didn't mean to ramble there, but I see people posting memes about the prices but don't know anything on how this all works.

Nah your good. Its always nice to hear others point of view on a matter. Definitely horrible timing with the war plus all the other factors you mention. Hopefully we don't have to ride out these crazy rises in cost (not in just gas) for very long but it isn't looking that way at the current moment.

Prep for at least until August. I guess the average will back around $3.00 by then w/ spikes in between as the war goes on.

The US and/or OPEC will release more oil (hell maybe this might be a boon for the US oil production). But yeah lets hope this conflict goes away soon.

I have to imagine there will be a huge spike in EV sales over the next year or two.

Went up again to $3.95 - $4.09 depending on the gas station.

I guess the best way to limit this is fill up around half your tank so it won't be as big a dickpunch. Of course if you can work from home that'll help much more.
