Dude can't stop reading your post! And I had. No idea I could think BR was any shittier than now! Impressive! Run by Whiner fans is all I need to know why it is how it is!

I think Cole talked to a staffer that said Gurley is to blame, and he stretched it to the coaches saying it because it isn't a completely unbelievable leap to think some coach said that at some point. They just never said it to Cole.

Gurley has to carry some blame here. I know the line play was atrocious, and the game plan sucked outside the first series each game, but there were too many games where he didn't look like the difference maker that we all thought he was. Marshall Faulk could make three guys miss in the backfield and get a first down. I don't see Todd doing that this year.

On the bright side, I thought he ran harder later in the season. He seemed to be picking up the effort as the bad losses piled up. The line just didn't follow suit.

My first gripe about Fisher was his treatment of vets and special players. Football is a team sport. You can't be having special treatment of certain players. It sends the wrong message. It isn't a team philosophy. It's a good way to have lots of players feeling less important. And a good way to slowly lose the team.

I want to preface this by saying that it's not exactly fair to expect Gurley to do what Faulk did because Faulk was one of the best HBs in the NFL history. But I will point out that Marshall Faulk averaged 3.0 yards per carry his third year in the NFL.

I am going to guess that there is also some butthurt going on here after Gurley very clearly voiced his distaste for how things were going at the end of the year. I have to wonder if he wasn't a pretty big part of why Fish was let go when he was.

And this notion that Benny is better or was better last season, you can't take his sample size and how he was used and say his stats show anything of the sort. I love Benny and hope we keep him. But Gurley is at another level and I'm guessing we're going to see that evidence this next season.

The timiming was there when Gurley voiced his opinion , but Fisher had that phone call with Eric Dickerson.that put Demoff in the middle of it. Fisher had already lost the team. They had to salvage the season. The fans already had enough. Fisher also threw Snead under the bus as well..

I just look at the games The Rams won with Benny when healthy. Tru as well.
Case won some games also . Tru got hurt I believe against Buffalo. If he stayed healthy the season could have gone the other way ?? Giants,, Miami , 9ers.

Just saying because we have come to expect Gurley to be one of the next greats. His name has been mentioned in the same breath of AP. He was a tenth overall pick. For a rb to be taken that high, anything but greatness is a failure. Very good RBs are taken in mid rounds. If that is all that Gurley is then it was a lousy pick. I think by the end of next year we will have a good idea of just what he is. So far it is a very mixed bag.

As I said, Faulk had a similarly bad year early in his career. If you look at the Colts offense that year, he was surrounded by total crap.

important to note he had a known toe injury that affected that season...there is no "known" injury to Gurley

Is that important to note, though? If Gurley came out and said he was injured, would that make a difference? Plus, Faulk averaged 3.7 yards per carry the year before that. I'd say more than the toe injury was an issue in Indy.

I would think it would, heck many on this board thought he may have been and fought through it. An injury would actually be relieving to some regarding his production.

It would still be an excuse. I think all of us felt something looked off with his shoulder. But it doesn't really matter that much to me. It wasn't like Gurley was taking the hand-off and going down with gigantic holes in front of him. Our OL totally sucked. In the end, it'll all come down to what he does in the future, not how he explains this season away. Plenty of great HBs had seasons like Gurley's.

TG surely got hammered a lot behind the line and that is on the OL. However I think he could have "Le'Veon'ed" a bit and shown patience in other situations and turned some 2 yard runs into bigger ones. I liked him catching passes - he got some good gains. Overall I think his attitude was not great. I heard Jamon Brown call him out (pot - kettle - black I guess).

Recall too in 2015 that a lot of his big gains were in the 2nd half and 4th Q. In 2016 we were rarely in a position to keep the running game going in the 4th Q. I think the Rams OC sometimes gave up on the run too soon in games.

I would hope he would be fired up for proving himself next season, both internally motivated and also wanting to please the new coach. The hope of a better OL might be a good carrot for him also. Go Todd.

An injury wouldn't be an excuse... it would be a reason. No injuries were reported though.

Every single person involved in that offense made it offensive.

Weed doesn't usually lead to weight loss.
