Apologies in advance for posting anything by Mike Florio but thought this would stir up some discussion.

Begins at 19:33

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...rly-on-that-ndamukong-wasnt-the-same-old-suh/

Supposedly Fowler was signed because the Rams realized Suh isn't the same player he was years ago. Duh! Also DE Jerry Hughes was their first choice but the Rams couldn't work out a deal with Buffalo before the deadline.

Foe those who aren't able to watch the video, here's the gist of it. AD needs to be double-teamed at all times. Double duh! The reason that hasn't happened until recently, according to Alex Boone, is because of ego.

Suh is nothing more than a bull-rusher who has no other moves. "Bully the bully and you win."

We all had a dream of seeing AD and suh together on the same line. We thought about all the possibilities. Ended up we were all Danny Snyders. Four years too late for suh.

10 Mill free cap next year for releasing Brockers?

Thinking him, Joyner, Suh, and Barron are going to find somewhere else to play next year.

Well...I’ll proudly go stand in Brockers corner. Love the man, the player and the leader. I’m not in love with his decline in pressure in the passing game, but he’s been plenty good in the run game. One of our few bright spots there.

Hell, I’d consider extending him a year or two, but at a lower cost! Dude came into the league at 20 years old or something! He’s still young. He’s consistent, strong, stays healthy. I’m good with him staying.

Not every player on the team is going to be a stud at everything. Some LBers are great in the run game but couldn’t cover my grandmother. Some CBs are sketchy in man-coverage but kill it in zone or in different schemes, and some are garbage in run support.

Brockers brings plenty to the table. And for as much as we’d like to see some additional pressure on the QB, that shortcoming falls largely on our Edge/OLBs...and yea a little on Suh, Brockers, JFM and Westbrooks. But our LBs have been bad.

Now...go get Avery Williamson and put him next to Kiser in the middle. Move Littleton outside. Develop JFM and Obo. Draft a Dlineman to pair with AD and Brockers...that would be good.

I remember him landing on his shoulder and causing an injury timeout earlier in the year. Since then he has been a ghost on the D line. He wasn't very good at rushing the passer before that. He's a great team guy and a positive presence in the locker room though. 10 mil savings though?? He looks very replaceable at the moment.

Put an actual LBER behind these guys and it's a different story .

That and some DLibe depth. AD and Suh play 90% of the snaps every week it seems. And Brockers is in for about 80+% typically.

I’m sure they could use some rest. That, plus it keeps the OLine from getting in too much of a groove against our Defensive front. There’s a lot that frustrates me watching the Defense.

Let’s face it Donald isn’t Elite.

2 games in a row with Zero sacks.

Once he gets pressured by 2 blockers he becomes the worst DT in Football.

One might call him a system DT.

You forgot the blue font.

The Rams defense has a number of good young players that will contribute to the success of this team, however, any vet carrying a hefty contract should be assessed this offseason to compare their cost to their contribution. I hate to admit it but I don't think any starters outside of Donald, Johnson, Littleton and NRC are locked in for next year. Perhaps as much as the following:

DL - Donald, *NT*, Brockers
LBs - Okoronkwo, *ILB*, Littleton, Fowler
DBs - NRC, *CB*, Johnson, *FS*, Talib

I agree they all should go , but imo , the first one on the list should be peters . We can't have a player that shys aways from contact , who doesnt want to get his uniform dirty . Add the fact that he is not very good at coverage ...... I don't even know how many times he was beat this year .

totally agree , the lack of variety is totally on wade . he sits on the same formation , same personel , same vanilla defense 99 % of the snaps...there is no way he can be more predictable .
