Didn't watch the game by the way. Saw Rypien and found some other shit to do.

If this was a regular season game would they have waited to continue from the rain delay?

I'm thinking that it was cancelled because there was lightning in the area and being that its not an official NFL stadium which would be equipped to provide safety for the fans/teams etc. So just my .02, they would have continue a rain delay for a regular season game.

Rypien throws 3 TDs, Bears win storm-shortened Hall of Fame Game

We may have made a mistake!!!

Brett Rypien stole the show before lightning and heavy rain ended the game early.

The veteran quarterback threw three touchdown passes, leading the Chicago Bearsto a 21-17 victory over the Houston Texans on Thursday night in the Hall of Fame Game.

Rypien finished 11-of-15 for 166 yards with TD passes of 20 and 9 yards to Johnson and 22 yards to Tommy Sweeney. Rypien, who was 2-2 as a starter in four seasons with the Broncos and Rams, entered camp as the third-string QB.

"This one meant a lot to me," Rypien said. "I had a bad taste in my mouth all offseason after my last start in Green Bay [on Nov. 5]. I didn't know how this season would go, didn't know if I'd get a chance to compete for anything."

So is Rypien a truck or a box car?

They had one in 2020 but obvs got canceled.
Then shouldn't we have been next in line when they resumed the Hall of Fame game?
Hell, we toted the water for the NFL with all those overseas games and even share our stadium with the Chargers.
We're way overdue. :)

Those aluminum stadium bleachers are lightning magnets.
The NFL doesn't need any more bad publicity.... like fried Hall of Famers.

Generally the teams that play in the hall of fame game are directly related to a couple of the players being inducted. So yesterday Andre Johnson (first Texan to be inducted) and Devin Hester.

And the 2020 game that got canceled was between the Steelers and Cowboys. Who had Troy Polamalu and Jimmie Johnson getting inducted that year. All though Isaac Bruce went in that year too so could have been the Rams but Steelers/Cowboys more popular I'm guessing. Last time the Rams were scheduled was 2011 due to Marshall Faulk being inducted but it got canceled due to the lockout.

Game seems to have been canceled several times due to storms/lightning.
