I like food.....So I watch the Food Network from time to time.

Who's your favorite chef &/or show on Food Network?
 
I like Good Eats. That dude explains EVERYTHING, and not just *how* to make stuff. I like hearing the science behind how to make good food, and not just what ingredients to use. But man, I'd really like to have Guy Fieri's job. Dude just drives around eating food from out-of-the-way diners and stuff. What a tough gig.
 
Yeah Alton is fun to watch. He's great entertainment and you can learn a lot from his show.

My favorite chef on the food channels though is Bobby Flay. I'm not crazy about his shows many of the times but I actually own one of his cookbooks and his flavors are pretty damn spot on for my tastes.
 
I really enjoy cooking,,, so much so that I do basically all the cooking in my house. I always give my wife credit for making a killer sandwich though.

My favorite cooking show isn't even on the cooking channel ,,, at least I don't think it is...

Anthony Bourdain : No Reservations

The guy is a real character (colorful past). Fascinating to check out the different foods from around the globe.

There's another show called From Hook To Table on the Fishing Channel that I can't turn off as well.

You thinking "Hook Line and Dinner"? That can be a pretty good show.

I love watching "No Reservations". Have you seen the TV show based on Anthony's memoirs? I think it was called "Kitchen Confidential". I love the scene wherew he is carrying around the fish explaining what he wants from his staff.

I have seen a couple of those other Bourdain shows... good stuff for sure. That guy cracks me the fuck up. I gotta keep my eyes peeled for that show so I don't miss it.

Yea I enjoy like Alton Brown's show as well. Man I agree 100000000% on Guy Fieri's gig....Talk about a dream job, what a lucky son of a gun.
 
My favorite cooking show is Top Chef (if you consider that a cooking show)

My favorite Food Network show is Good Eats and Alton Brown is definitely my favorite chef on that show.

Kitchen Confidential only went one season I believe. I think you can find it on Netflix.
 
guess I am in the minority , but Alton just grates on my nerves.

dont really have a favorite show, to me it really depends on what they are cooking

been getting into "The TASTE" on ABC , basically like the voice, but the judges (Nigella Larson, Brian Malarkey, Ludo and Bourdain) do blind taste tests of wht all contestants put together and eliminate someone based on the taste alone, with the chance of eliminating one of their own team.
 
I've started to warm up to Gordon Ramsey after marathoning through episodes of of his Kitchen Nightmares reruns on BBC

Its not really a food show per se....its more of a restraunt revival thing. We all think of Gordon as a foul mouthed, in your face kinda guy...but what I've learned from him recently is that hes is extremely talented and confident as well as very adaptable to different genre's, menu's, and local societies. He's alo pretty good at bringing families back together after they've been broken down from the stresses of the business.

My father was a restraunt owner when I was in high school (Glendora Ca, a restraunt called L.A. Mint).....as such, I spent many an evening as a teenager washing dishes, cooking, and learning the challenges of running a business. That being the case, I suppose I relate really well to the individual cases on this particular show. Because of my upbringing, I tend to evaluate restraunts, service, location, menu items, etc while I am out. And i always come away thinking how easy I could fix the place, even with my limited experience. But I'm sure it aint all that easy.

Gordon Ramsay is the balls. I like all of his shows.
Kitchen Nightmares, Hell's Kitchen and Masterchef are all pretty awesome.
