Does he crack the starting line up? Has there been any news on this?

I read Ourlads scouting report on him when he came out. They claimed he was perfect for a zone defense... so maybe he just didn't fit Washington's D under their new scheme last year... Might be much better here.

He showed well in the season finale against Seattle imo. Had a couple PDs if I recall correctly. He was out of place in Washington. The rams defense fits him well imo. Just don't ask him to tackle.

I have not heard anything about him. He is kind of the forgotten player, despite all the draft pedigree! Fans and the media forget he is in horns. He is one player I am really curious to see next year. If he becomes a reliable starting corner it would be huge for us. Time will tell.

I'm REALLY hoping Forbes can be involved next season. We need a ball hawk and he was absolutely that in college. It would solve a lot and free us up even more in the draft.

Yeah, that pick up last year could turn out to be a sneaky good pick up even if he is a dependable 3rd CB. Being able to move on from Kendrick dumps his 3M salary. That helps.

I really can’t believe how skinny he is.

I’m skeptical.
Yeah, that bothers me as well, but he was very good in the SEC...It's not like he was a FCS guy or D2 guy. He played in the big boy conference and excelled. Hopefully he hired a chef to get his weight up.

It's his willingness or lack thereof to tackle that concerns me. But the Rams are paying him $3m so that tells me they feel pretty strongly about him.

That pick up and Kendricks coming back is why I don't think they see CB as high on their list of needs as fans do.

Forbes is underweight to the point where his safety on an NFL field is a concern and he may be dealing with an eating disorder. The Rams need him to add 20+ lbs to seriously consider starting him. For whatever reason, he has lost weight since being drafted.

IMO The Rams bring Whiterspoon back to help be a mentor

Forbes is very much at the upper end of that range, which befits his role as a professional athlete.

Forbes weighed in at 166 lbs at the NFL combine and has lost weight since that time (part of the reason he was released by Washington). If he was a winger on a soccer pitch, he could play at 140 lbs. As a defensive back, he would be lean at even the high school level. Adding weight is the only way he returns to the gridiron in meaningful games.

He claims he's up in eight. I think he did he was around 175 now.

Pass Coverage in ZONE is well for him.

I have serious concerns about his run defense.

His physique is worrisome. I HOPE they can get 15-20lbs on him.

No reason you cannot be a great ball hawk with that build, and break up passes using speed/agility/timing/long limbs. But he sure does seem to be at risk at that level of skinny if he tackles opposing players. I suspect he probably does not tackle as a result. But I have never seen him play.

Personally, I cannot stand CBs that refuse to tackle. Maybe the Rams don't mind.

When we brought him in, the secondary could have used any plus starter, finesse ball hawk or not. But the secondary really improved as the year progressed, and particularly towards the end of the regular season and into the playoffs. We are past the "take anyone capable regardless of deficiencies" stage. But let's see how he does!
