I would be livid if we took Dart in the first or before the 3rd.

That being said, I'm surrendering to the thought that he could go in the 1st. Just means another guy gets pushed down to us if it's before 26. I just feel bad for a team that overdrafts him.

He's the 2nd best QB in the draft IMO. I truly dont get why folks are down on him. Has all the intangibles, improved each year while playing in the SEC

I think it's his work against pressure and making a bet that his "first read then take off style" was mostly or wholly a design of the offense and not his deficiencies as a processor.

That's a big bet in the 1st round. Not so crazy in the 3rd.

It appears the Rams are “all in” on Super Bowl runs the next 2 years. If I’m right a QB won’t be an option at R1.26. They have too many other needs for the next 2 Years (CB1, ILB1, another TE/WR weapon, Swing OT, etc.).

Agreed. A first round QB project doesn't help them win a Super Bowl. I think they take one later.

Playing in the SEC isn't as big of an endorsement as you make it out to be. Dart played in a very simple offense and as @WestCoastRam said was mostly a one read and run QB.

I wouldn't be excited if the Rams used a first round pick on Dart. They'd be better off taking a guy like Rourke, or McCord later imo.

I agree.
And after watching Dart's WR highlights, I'm thinking he's more average than not--his WR really helped him out.
But... we'll all be on pins & needles in a few weeks, when that #26 pick rolls up... it will tell us everything about where the Rams are headed--"win now" (RB, WR, TE) or "win later" (QB).

I would think that the capture of Adams pretty much confirms that the Rams are in "win now" mode.

Maybe, ya. But if they pick a QB with #26, when they could've gotten another weapon to put us over the top (or even a stud CB), then I'm not so sure. As-is, with Adams, Puka, #9 & KW, I think we win the NFCW & get another playoff run, but unless we get better (either more explosive O wepz, or a lock-down D), I don't think we make it all the way. But maybe that's their goal. Just make it into the playoffs & see if they get lucky, but snag a QB for the future now.
I guess we'll find out. But I do agree, getting Adams signals that they want to load weapons to make one more SB run with #9; actually just the fact that #9 stayed with the Rams is a pretty good indication of this -- I think Matt needed some kind of confirmation from McVay of which way the Rams Org was headed before he recommitted, which he got apparently.

Disagree on WRs helping him out. They get open, which they’re supposed to do, but Dart is very accurate. Not sure what highlights you’re watching, but all I’ve seen is him dropping it in the bucket. Problem is he doesn’t goes through progressions, which is a huge issue at the next level, and likely why he isn’t a first round player. He can develop sitting for a few years, much like Jordan Love did. Most people didn’t think he was a first round talent either. Sitting for a year or two does wonders.

Did he not go through progressions because he can't or because that's the design of the offense? Typically, I cross out QBs that don't go through progressions. Mental processing is the most important QB trait necessary IMO.

Here's the thing for me... if I take him, I'm making a BIG bet with him. That he can do a million things he hasn't show on tape when it comes to processing, accuracy, pocket presence (not escapability), running an NFL offense, taking snaps under center (he could barely do this at the Senior Bowl but we'll be honest and say he'll get this).

He seems to have a great arm though, athletic and is tough.

Every player is worth something, to me he's worth a 4th round pick. That's where I think you take a shot on a guy like that but even then, I'd rather spend a 4th rounder (I know we don't have one) on someone else.

I think the read on Dart is that his accuracy is all over the place - BADA BING! Falls apart under pressure, spotty long but good accuracy short and intermediate area when not pressured. I'd argue it's his least problematic problem but he's got issues there.

If all you watched were highlights, then yeah, he's gonna look pretty accurate.

I think Nate Tice and Charles McDonald had a good read on Dart, worth a listen there. Although, I'm biased towards their analysis but they seem to get it more right than wrong.

Given that Snead has so much disdain for selections this late it would seem to me that "All In" would involve actually trading the selection for an established veteran rather that counting on a rookie selected so late in the first round.
