That doesnt make sense. Where is the 45 mill of current dead cap prorate at? Its a cute picture but it literally says nothing. How much cash is he getting?
If you cant explain it, its worthless
Have you never used Overthecap's salary calculator?

Currently, there is $22,666,666 dead cap prorate for '25 and '26. I'm adding a $30m bonus and 2 void years which prorates at an additional $7.5m per year from '25 - '28.

'25 prorate: $30,166,666
'26 prorate: $30,166,666
'27 prorate: $7.5m
'28 prorate: $7.5m

As for cash, he's getting the $30m signing bonus and a $12m salary for a total of $42m. It's all in the picture!

Those calculators are a joke, namely spreading out bonus money. It get spread out evenly over the remaining years, so off the bat, that picture is wildly inaccurate

This one is spreading out the money ($30m) evenly over 4 years at $7.5m per year.

That's not what it shows. It shows a 30 mill prorate in 25/26 and 7.5 mill in 27/28
If they add 30 mill of bonus to the current 45 mill, its a total of 75 mill or 18.8 mill per year
Which adds up to my explanation earlier
There is 45 mill of current dead cap, that doesnt go away, it can be re-distributed if void year are added

No, the $22.66m that is currently in 25/26 can't go away, can't be lessoned, so it would never be $18.8 per year.
$30m in 25/26 and $7.5m in 27/28 does add up to $75m. The current dead cap is there.

Wrong
His current contract has 3 dead money prorates. 12 mill per year in signing bonus, 4.1 mill per year in a previous restructure and 6.5 mill per for his option pay out, which equate to 22.5 per year, 45 mill total
If he is given a new "bonus" of 30 mill, while adding 2 void years, all of the dead money can be spread out over the remaining 4 years.
Thats why the void years are added
Which brings back to my initial though on this, Staff gets his money in '25 (roughly 46 mill) but still is drastically underpaid in '26, (roughly 31 mill) and their is still a hefty cap hit

We're gonna have to disagree on the emphasized part above. My stance is that the NEW money will be spread out over the 4 years but old prorated money can't be changed.

We shall see...Cheers

As for Stafford being underpaid in '26, I didn't worry about next year in my mock or salary cap calculations because the Rams have stated they want to take it one year at a time with Stafford. He was fine with that in '24. I guess it remains to be seen if he's fine with that in '25.

I believe the Rams draft OT earlier and I want a younger meaner “dog” at ILB. Otherwise nice breakdown and food for thought.

Love alot of the players on this. The Free agency part might be tough. Starting with Tee Higgins. 3 years? Ridley got 4 years and more dollars and is 4 years older than Higgins. Would love him but I think team with throw stupid money at him. He will likely get at a minimum 5 years and at least 30M per. Overall everything else looks solid and a nice path.

PFF is projecting 4 years, $28m per year. I'd do that, if necessary. I'm projecting less than 5 years and less than $30m because of his injury history. We shall see...

But I've cooled a little on Higgins anyway. Godwin and likely DeVante Adams will be better targets.

If they get Higgins I don’t think they would put to much into drafting a reciver that high they would just use Whittington in the slot
You may be right. I'm just not sold on Whittington being starter quality but the Rams may view him in a more favorable light. Slot is so important to McVay's system that I'm skeptical that he would just turn it over to Whitt and be done.

In the event that you are correct and WR is not as high a priority after a free agent signing, I'd do something akin to:

40 - CB, Trey Amos or Azareye'h Thomas
70 - TE, Elijah Arroyo or Mason Taylor
90 - OT, Anthony Belton
100 - RB, Dylan Sampson
126 - WR, Pat Bryant
5th - WR, Kobe Hudson

They need more bodies to fill out the WR room even if they sign a free agent since they may lose 4 with a Kupp trade, so I would double dip the position.
