Some thoughts here ....Looking @ what I would call Tavon Austin wide receiver? no ...a RB? no ...a Slot yeah ok he plays the slot position. They call Slotters wide outs but that's not right...TA is also has return skills but I sure would not pencil him as a KR/PR either....guess when I try to put him in the 11 offense positions he just does not fit in any of them. Austin RB/WR/SL/KR/PR..... he is just plain SPECIAL!
Weak Side LB'er Alex Ogletree was not a favorite of mine but he is a Ram now so I will move to celebrate him here with a big welcome. My first comment is he is made to order with his skills to combat those running/option QB's in Seattle & San Fran. No other Lb'er was available in this draft that has the skills to shut down the above Qb's. Alex should force a move of Dunbar to the strong side giving the Rams the best three set Ram Lb'ers since maybe Robertson- Reynolds- Jim Youngblood in the early 70's. Rams are very thin and weak @ safety now but Ogletree is at his best when playing the pass! So Alex looks like a perfect match for the Rams defense.
Bad news is the Rams have no second round pick Friday at the same time experts say this is the strongest second round cadre in decades so its costly to miss out of this action. So I would hope that Snead & Fisher have their new board reset where they will be looking at the remaining Right OT's, Free Deep Safeties & a corner with the 3/#71 & 3/#92.
I like CB Darius Slay to replace Bradley Fletcher & Safety Shamarko Thomas to replace Q.Mikell late Friday night!

when it's all said and done the rams got the two players they wanted and all it cost them was changing their 2nd rounder to a 3rd rounder. nobody they wanted would have been there for them at #16.

BTW, Stranger, I was wrong. We gave away our 7th when we sold out to get Tavon. So we only have six remaining picks: two 3rd's, a 4th, a 5th, and two 6th's.
I really, really hope Les & Fish can manufacture some more 2nd|3rd rounders. A lot of safeties and WR's will probably go in the next two rounds. I wouldn't mind us being able to stash Lattimore away for 2014 either.
