Now even more so I’d want an OT drafted early. Getting a stud OT in a rookie contract for 4-5 years will help alleviate the money paid to Dotson.

Best RG Since Adam Timmerman, Rams had to keep Dotson and they did. Thank you Pittsburgh.
If we get 7 years from Dotson I'll put him on equal or better footing! That said glad we kept him hope the price isn't back breaking though.

So 3 year contract at $16m/ year. But only 2 years guaranteed. Now backload half of this years $16m to year 3. And draft either a OT or OC in the first 2 rounds with Shelton and/or Ajax as depth.
Hard to tell if it's 2 years guaranteed or some each year. You also have to figure the signing bonus is guaranteed and spread out. There almost assuredly will be guaranteed money every year there generally is, possibly even void years those stupid things that are popular now.

Probably backloaded so we can go HAM next week. Let's goooooo
I know that’s the general attitude on this forum, but I am of the camp who would like to see his contract front loaded.
-Avila is on a rookie deal
-Jackson has been tendered, no? That makes him as cheap as he’s gonna work for the Rams.
-Should the Rams draft a starting Center, that would be another rookie contract.

Stafford, Donald, Kupp, and Noteboom all have big cap hits this year, yes, but between those guys are some voidable years to follow. While they can, the Rams should unload as much of a cap hit as they can. There are young guys (rookie contracts) who might be in line for a payday in a year or two.

Yuuuuge!

Biggest hole to fill in the off-season. The first and most important piece of the puzzle. Now everything else can fall into place.

Really happy about this news. Now we won't lose both our center and right guard. Would like to see Shelton stay. But if not someone like Jackson Powers-Johnson might be a good pick come draft day

I’m all for taking JPJ in the 1st rd now or trying to get Frazier in the 2nd. Having the middle of the OL stacked for 3 yrs could be huge!

FWIW, Jourdan - SHE DEVIL INCARNATE!! - mentioned that Rams were looking to pay at max 16 mil a year for Dotson in her column this morning.

I’d rather have the WV center - Frazier. Especially since you can get him later instead of at 19. That’s too high for a OC imo
Do I like taking a center in the 1st? hell no!

Watch the Senior bowl practices with him and the other top 3 round talent DT’s. It’s not even a competition.its just a matter of time before he works it to his favor.
