Someone mentioned in another post Jerry Hughes would be a good pickup.

I feel we need someone outside on defense.

What do you guys think we need?

Shane Ray or Shaquil Barrett would be good fits. Both are FA's at the end of the year, and Rams could use another pass rusher. Day 3 pick for either, Rams have to see this is the year.

Jerry Hughes Buffalo Bills...Rams need an edge rusher, Bills need draft choices. Not sure how it works out for the Cap, but he has one more year remaining on his huge deal.

A bit under $374k per week cap hit for him, including the bye week. Would push the Rams up against the cap, leaving them no safety margin if any more injuries occur. Would have a cap hit of $7.5 million next year, although I don't think that's guaranteed.

Because of the accelerated cap hit if he's traded, the Bills don't save much against the cap this year, but do save a bit next year.

Frankly, I'm not sure if they would be willing to trade him for much less than a third.

Strategically, I don't know if Ram's current salary cap situation allows such a luxury. However if such a thing were possible, my wish list would start with an edge rusher.

I agree on that........but space under the cap means we are rolling with what we have unless Snead has someone in mind off the street or that is developing on the PS.

One advantage to this 3 straight road game is that McVay and the Rams haven't had to break out anything new to beat these teams and the 49ers don't present a threat. Hopefully he has a plan because that's the big negative on this team right now.

I think both of these guys would be a good choice. They are cheaper and know Wade’s system.

I thought I posted this earlier..oh well he is another try. He is having a great year with stats 4.5 sacks and 3 FFs. I don't see anyone else on the rumor block that would help with edge rushing. Doubt the Rams would give more than a 3rd rounder as they have the expected comps coming.

JERRY HUGHES
AFC East Notes: McCoy, Bills, Wake, Pats
October 14th, 2018 at 12:58pm CST by Rory Parks
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports says the odds of the Bills trading any veterans — like RB LeSean McCoy, whose name has recently surfaced in trade rumors — are very slim. La Canfora writes that it would take a “bounty” to pry McCoy or Jerry Hughes away from Buffalo, as the team considers both players, who are both signed beyond this season to club-friendly deals, to be vital veteran components of its rebuild. Ian Rapoport of NFL.com agrees, saying it could take as much as a second-round draft pick to land McCoy.

Now let’s round up a few more notes from the AFC East, starting with more from Orchard Park:

If only the nfl was like mlb, trade deadline just doesn’t often amount to much

I assume the inappropriate was a butt dial:LOL:
You know, on my cell phone that inappropriate symbol is on the far right, and once in a while as I scroll up and down I hit it. Of course I un do it when that happens. But. I think that's why we see a bunch of Inappropriates that don't make sense as inappropriate. Maybe move thread winner to the far right? lol

Been there and done that

Agreed!

Christ I hope not. At some point Les needs to get back to bringing in higher quality rooks to replenish parts of this roster. He's done pretty well with the short term trade acquisitions, but I prefer he holds on to the picks and lets this team do its thing.

At the least just hold on to the first few rounds worth of picks. I know they're late-round, but if you move the first round pick for example our first pick will be very close to round 3. This team has as good a chance as any, let's roll with what we have outside of the lower level type acquisitions.
