They wear blue with white horns and also blue with gold horns ? Are they two separate helmets or the same one just with a different skin ?

If they do have more than one helmet, how does that play with the NFL’s “one helmet rule” ?

Looking forward to some answers.

Same shell, different horn sticker.

I think they use some stickers sometimes...I have seen them torn....

billion dollar industry uses stickers....weak

The Horns are decals and are changed to match the uniform combination.

I don’t believe that they have been painted in over 50 years.

Same helmets.

I was at a Rams game against the Redskins in Anaheim. I had endzone seats and was watching the Redskins oline warming up pregame. I noticed many of their helmet logos were all torn up and that they were stickers. It's the kind of thing you don't notice on tv. I thought to myself the great nfl uses stickers...just like my high school helmet...how cheap!

Again helmets are fitted and players don't like to have different helmets as they are adjusted to ensure the ultimate protection....There is always a reason...FWIW similar picture of my football helmet in High School and always loved that it looked like The Ohio State University.

Actually smart, helmets are now fitted to the head and you want to keep the same helmet, it offers far better protection for the players.

I always remember there being a clear coat that looked very thick on the helmets....and every week they looked brand new...maybe they did get a different helmet every week.....

we cant afford 2 helmets per player?.....really?

In 2013 the NFL told teams to stop having more than one helmet to be used during the season. It was based on a recommendation from the Head, Neck and Spine Committee and the Player Safety Advisory Panel.

Here's a great shot of Kadeem Carey getting his "C" knocked off.

With all due respect, players like one helmet and it's fitted perfectly and they don't like to keep changing helmets. Yes ESK can afford multiple helmets again it has to do with safety.

maybe the sport is unsafe.....

The horns are decals. Think the type of sticker you put on your license plate with each renewal, but a tad thicker.

At least thats what it feels like to me.

It is unsafe, but people enjoy it. Take for example another sport that people enjoy. Just in the U.S. 50 people a year die from participation, helmets do nothing to protect participants, and over 600,000 injuries occur per year. With statistics like that it's pretty easy to see why the sport should be banned. Just saving 50 lives a year should be reason enough to NEVER let anyone participate, but nobody cares that skiing is inherently unsafe. People enjoy it, even if it kills.

I just remembered this. At the Saints game, when Goff's helmet speakers were not working, he used Manion's helmet the 1st drive. I wonder if the NFL rules allow for that.

Den, is that you? Catching a touchdown pass in overtime to win the city championship?
