The OBJ double move. Bit on it every time.

I get that he's trying to get interceptions, but I honestly prefer sticky coverage, and he didn't have that.
Kendricks was on the other side of the field on OBJ's TD. Otherwise, Beckham had 50 yards and they weren't all on Kendrick. The first "double move", wasn't even a double move, he moved to free space behind the zone because there was no safety over top.

Double move. Not touchdown. Kendrick cheated to get an interception, and the quarterback baited him like he would a safety. I'm surprised that he didn't get a taunting penalty the way he chatted up Flowers on his third down catch (not even an incompletion; a fucking catch), and he does this stupid shit every game. Durant and Witherspoon weren't great either, Fuller was atrocious, JJ3 and Yeast only a little less so, but at least they don't do stupid shit every game and off-the-field like Kendrick does or did.

I only remember one play where he was in zone coverage and Jackson basically threw over him. But if he drops back a bit like Moose suggested in the broadcast then he gives up the easy pass in the flat. It looked to me like it was Fuller who should have been over the top there but wasn't. Yeah I agree though another good game from him.
Rams line up in Cover-8, motion turned it into cover-6, but either way Cover-2 to that side of the field ... there was safety over the top but was pulled by the double slants. I don't even think it was a called slant and go/fade.

Left side was = tosser (two slants) concept, right side = stick (3-man concept). Jackson's reads would bethe stick, then first slant and then second slant so OBJ was Jackson's third read but his looking left first drew Johnson a bit and that is why he was late getting over OBJ.

In short, adlib play, almost like a sramble rules play ... and Jackson had too much time ... and was able to get a pass over a cheating RCB.

And Moose, I am sure, was right. If Kendrick stays in the flat that slant would have been available if first two reads not there.

Isn't that higher than the real deal Jackson?
lol… yes.
Just like seeing if low-investment players at key positions can contribute and/or be counted on for next season.

Having a dirt-cheap starting corner is a great value. Even if he’s depth next year.

If we're saying Jackson with his lower rating can be a starter next year DK can be too I'd say.

I know he’s not everyone’s favorite… but Hunter will hit the market.
At corner.. tougher to see. But maybe sign a decent mid-level FA and go first round here.
Daniele Hunter? I'd be happy with him
For this division having corners outside the hash that can hold up to the run game is pretty important. That's why I think the Rams will look hard at the kid from Chicago. And if they add him then draft a good safety midround that back end should be quite strong.

From there who knows when an edge is on the board. But at any point if that happens then this defense might start cooking. There are other needs on defense but the Rams overall have a speed problem outside the hash on both sides of the ball so they'll definitely be in the market even if it's just window shopping and raising the bidding.
Hayden Johnson would be an awesome signing. I have been hoping this happens ever since it was reported that he doesn't want to stay in Chicago.
DK’s season PFF grade is up over 65 now.

He keeps improving, it seems.
Yes, he has played better overall. Then he has a gaffe or two. Like the two plays on the same drive versus the Browns, that resulted in a field goal. He had some mistakes versus the Raven too. I hope he can be more consistent as the season goes on. If the Rams make the playoffs he can't be making mental mistakes.

DK reminds of Jerametrius Butler - late round pick, coming on in his second season, and on the smaller side. The pure definition of a value pick

Jaylon ... and yes, I agree that he would be an excellent (but expensive) addition.

After their bye, the Rams D allowed 49 points the previous 3 games before Baltimore. In the last game prior to the bye they allowed GB 20 and 7 of that came with under 4 minutes remaining in a 13-3 game with Rypien under center. Read: The game was o-v-e-r already. So they gave up 31 points to the #1 seed in the AFC, and we want to blame Kendricks and the Rams D? They actually lost because of special teams.

The kid has skills...PERIOD!!! Let him grow up. He's physical and feisty...and he played very well lately.

Hopefully that incident also woke him up to how easy it is to be in the doghouse and lose your chosen profession.

The reality for the Rams is they are solid on offense for next year. They just need to maintain solid depth on the OL. I wouldn’t mind seeing an improvement at one of the starter positions (LT or OC??).
On defense they have AD and other solid players (Turner, BBrown, EJones, Young) but they need major improvements at Edge pressure and pass coverage. They could use help at ILB (which could be accomplished by a minor FA or late Draft pick).
I have a lot of faith in the Rams being legitamite contenders next year but they must address their defensive deficiencies.
