I thought starting out Turner would be a good rotational DT on passing downs but have been surprised by how damn stout he is in the run game. That guy's got a solid core for sure standing up those bigger olineman and not giving up ground while still being able to move out of the block when needed. Another great plug and play rookie from this years class with huge potential.

Thought it might be good to get threads going on various position groups. Kinda like we have one with Avila and the offensive line. Here's some Turner content for you guys.

Jourdan alluded to his size-to-strength ratio a few times. Just plays bigger than he is.

I believe Kobie Turner & Bobby Brown are meant to seriously improve upon the Gaines/A'Shawn Robinson duo, they may be in that developmental stage this year, but they are younger with tons of upside. Once we replace Hoecht with an elite Edge next pre-season, and an improving Byron Young on the opposite side, a revitalized Aaron Donald will be playing like he was 5 years ago. Our defensive front will be unstoppable.
jmo.

Pass rush wasn't what he was really known for in college, I think. But he was a stud run blocker.

D Line looks good. Young guys like Turner and Young are looking like foundation pieces on the Defense. Rams are using a nice mix of 4 and 5 man fronts.

Overall so far they are getting the job done. Love the Turner addition. But I don't think Brown is up to snuff and he let a big run through his fit vs SF.

Edge is undergunned too but make up for it as well with top effort.

Feels like coaching is getting the most from these boys but at some point they will hold us back.

CBs for next year:
-Witherspoon (nice surprise)
-Durant (Slot)
-Draft Pick (Round 2)

Edge for next year:
-Young
-STUD Vet (via Trade or FA)

The bummer for me with Brown is that he’s, outside of Donald, probably the most talented player in the group.

You’re not a Tomlinson fan?

Yea they hit a homerun with Turner. We really consistently shut down the inside run and when you run the tape he is constantly in the mix. He really just knows how to get off blocks.

Jonah Williams really flashed this week as well. Curious to see if that is a one week thing or not.

Young is showing some moves to go along with that incredible athleticism. He projects somewhere between a Leonard Floyd and a superstar depending on how much he grows with his technique.
