Not so sure about that.

The PFF guys at first said there's no way that that was the correct compensation. That they must have been getting the wrong info. They did the math and said Carolina "won by 68%" -- no idea how they came up with that calculation, but the bottom line is, Rams overpaid. I'm sure the Panthers must've decided that the next time Snead comes calling begging to be fleeced, they won't say no. lol
Yeah, they overpaid. That happens in trade ups. But I use a trade calculator at the below link. They overpaid by about 15%.

It matters. But you can overcome it. Fiske overcomes it by being insanely explosive and twitchy. Plus, his hands are quick and active, which mitigates it to a degree. Add in a motor that's always revved, and I think he'll be a good pick.

Jerry, I said it doesn't matter as much for defensive tackles. Compared to edge rushers and tackles, the interior lines don't need the length as much. I agree on everything else you said, though.

The story so far...

We ain't picking for a while. Gotta wait for almost 40 picks to pass before we get to 83. Not sure who we target. But it would not surprise me if its an offensive pick. I've seen some mocks having us pick tight end Ben Sinnot. With Davis Allen and Colby Parkinson I'm not sure we need a tight end at that spot. Maybe later in the draft on day 3.
RB, WR, OT, maybe CB

Depth picks

Notice the run on DTs... now maybe they could have traded up fewer spots for less and took Jenkins or Smith, but Fiske is the more disruptive player.
Yep good point. Maybe they were like "pickins gonna be slim round 3 so let's move up and get the guy we love."

This pick would be us. Cannot believe Mitchell is still on the board.

I have very long arms and started at TE and second string OLB……in spite of the rest of me being built like Brian Allen……

Aaaand the stream is down. Fuck me.

Well hopefully we'll be moving away from that bend but don't break defensive

They did not overpay. They didn't give up any of their four thirds this year and next, nor their first round pick next year. We moved up with a second and a fifth, the former pick in a weak year where we have multiple picks to play with.
They gave up two 2nds and a fifth. To move up 13 spots. The PFF guys said they thought the trade details they had were a "typo," because it could not have been that expensive. And they did some math to prove just how much. They all agreed Snead overpaid. Now, the PFF guys aren't the end all and be all, but they do this for a living and I tend to think they know this stuff pretty well.

We have gotten better. Don't be fooled, Kobie Turner was Donald's replacement. Add an actual edge in Verse, another DT in Fiske and with our revamped (improved) secondary and o-line we are legit Super Bowl contenders. We were close last year and much improved this year. Go Rams.

Well, I wouldn't have been too mad if we sticked and picked and got him, but he's about the last of the tier 1 guys I had.

I agree. Even with the loss of The Legend, we are likely a better overall defense. And a better offense for sure.

You called it OldSchool.
Frazier to the steelers. Man, they just always seem to be in the right place to draft a franchise Center.

Well, the PFF guys strongly disagree -- it was so bad they said they thought the trade details they had were a "typo." And they did some math to prove just how much. They all agreed Snead overpaid. Now, the PFF guys aren't the end all and be all, but they do this for a living and I tend to think they know this stuff pretty well.
No, they don't do this for a living. They do football analytics for a living and I like their material on that. They don't do trade analysis or anything regarding team building for a living. All that stuff is new.

That's not what they're known for, that's not what they're good at.

They're looking at it the wrong way. Again, the Rams moved up in the second with a second (next year in a weaker class) and a fifth. They didn't give up any of their four third round picks (as of now), and they'll have plenty of ammunition to trade up and down as needed.
