I’m still in shock that the Falcons drafted 24 year old Michael Penix at 8. There’s a non zero chance they start taking trade calls for Kirk Cousins. Absolutely insane.

The dead cap hit for trading him would be massive.

I actually see this as smart for a team that has suffered years of bad QB play...........as long as you think Penix is good, who everyone, (including Kurt Warner) said was the best "pure thrower" in the draft.

Yup. Kinda odd ppl yearn for taking a qb to sit and learn but when they actually do that the team are idiots.

Not very high on Robinson the Cardinals got. That’s the first big mistake of the new regime that I’ve seen. Really liked their draft last year.

Nothing wrong with competition. In fact I'd say Cousins is at his best when he's not sure about job security.

I have to laugh about this stuff man. The Athletic slamming Atlanta because they didn't take a player the pre-draft groupthink vetted. And then they have another article talking about how uncertain it is to evaluate QBs.

Atlanta is finally drafting intelligently I think. Taking Penix was a brilliant move. There aren't enough of these guys to go around. Penix is a pocket QB with big balls and Atlanta is gonna love him. Cousins has a high talent kid breathing down his neck to keep him sharp. This guarantees they have improved quality at the most important position and maybe a future with a stud. Win win.

Not when Atlanta needs so much and Penix I see sitting for 2 3 maybe even 4 years.

A number 8 pick should be a high end starter year 1

My biggest shock of the night other than Penix was the Bills trading with the Chiefs, the team that has made them their bitch for years, so that the Chiefs can draft a speedster freak of a weapon that Reid will use to destroy Bills defense some more. My god Beane is a terrible GM.
