The idea regarding Lance is he would cost next to nothing and he has raw, first round, physical traits.
He barely got a chance in SF before he was injured.
Although, it was obvious the Whiners had more of a chance to win with Jimmy G than Lance at that time.
I like the idea of trying to find a guy to develop.
The options are few.
Invest big draft capital to move to draft a guy, spend massive money to sign a guy or roll the dice on someone who is being chased out of somewhere else.
Limited options and its worth a roll of low risk dice.
Im not in love the idea of Lance, there are other possible guys.
I agree that the Rams may need to find a diamond in the rough. I don’t agree that it’s Lance. I haven’t seen anything from him that suggest he could even play at a solid backup level.

We should be able to to sign what's left of Darnold pretty cheap.
Depends on how long he spends in the hospital after that game. :)

Playoffs are a different level man. DCs pull out all the stops. Every defender leaves it all on the field.

Stafford had to blow early timeouts due to Vikes audibling off the Rams audibles. He countered one of the best and most aggressive DCs in the league today.

The man elevates in the playoffs.

Playoff Stafford is a force to be reckoned with

I will say this: if anybody can get the most out of him, it is Sean. I would be a buyer if the price was right. Matthew will be 37 this year and this QB draft class doesnt do much for me. I think you are no worse off with him than Jimmy G.

Billy is it time to change your title from Baroo to Bozo? :)

Just messing with you! Wow, this thread rebounded spectacularly! NO

I disagree with all of that. I wouldn't let him leave if I was the Vikings. Besides, if I am Darnold I sign a team friendly deal that is around 35 mil a year for however long it needs to be to fit under their cap with the understanding that the contract is renegotiated after 2 years if he hits certain goals.

This guy isn't Purdy. He has way more athletic ability and skill.
Still disagree?

Darnold has been carried by KOC and Justin Jefferson. He doesn't have 'it' like Kirk Cousins.

In just over 1 week he goes from looking at 45-50 mill per year as franchise qb, to hoping to land a bridge QB gig or as a solid backup for 2-3 mill per
Wow
I disagree. It makes sense for the Vikings to feel out his market and possibly franchise him as insurance as JJ McCarthy’s backup.

Unless of course they’ve seen something from Daniel Jones in practices.

Darnold has some qualities Jimmy G doesn't but as we saw last week against the Lions and yesterday against the Rams, Darnold can get very rattled when pressured.

He stops being able to process, doesn't move up in the pocket, and holds the ball way too long. Jimmy G doesn't do those things. He processes way better than Darnold. I'd take that over Darnold.

8 days ago, for sure. These last 2 games destroy his market. He's the same guy who was mid to terrible with 4 different teams
I could see them doing a 1 year 10 mill deal with incentives, but other than that he's not getting starter money.
Mullens, Jones and Darnold are all UFA now.
Sign 1 of them to be the backup and see what you have with McCarthy is where they go to go
