I seriously doubt it. I predicted 11-6 this year for us and I think we wit the NFC West.

Week one this year, last year, next year…. Always games and weird defeats and wins like this.

For years the NFL is trying to I crease parody amongst competition in the NFL.

Coaches and staff that get made the better part of a million or millions are incentivized to figure it out and most teams usually do by week 4 1/4 of the way through the season. Of course the pressure of NotForLong always keeps those fuckers thinking and working 24/7.

Nothing new year. Just normal modern opening day week.

FCI’m not against too early, wild speculation, and agree after watching both games it looks like the Cards might not pull off 10 even accounting for the strength of the Chiefs.

However, I disagree with your take on the 9ers. The weather played a role, they had tons of penalties that killed them and might be fixed by running laps, and they had a few other bad breaks go against them.

I saw a really good defense that will keep them in all their games. I saw an offense AND defense that matches up well with the Rams In my opinion they will win at least 13 and probably beat us twice, handily.

Totally hope I’m wrong.
i‘m not saying the 9ers won’t win 10+ games. More saying that it could happen.
Before week 1 I felt 12 wins were needed to win the NFC west. Now I’m not so sure,
the 9ers have a great D. Possibly best In league. An ok O gets them 11 wins minimum. Their O may be bottom half even with one of best play callers ever.

I wouldn't predict much until about 3-4 games in.

I think its fair however, to say the Hawks losing Wilson and Rams losing critical starters in Whitworth, Miller, Corbett, OBJ and Weddle will be weaker teams.

The Niners can always revert to Jimmy and the Cards will get Hopkins back and make some noise.

We currently look similar to the team that struggled last year before adding OBJ, Weddle and Miller. Hard to say for sure after just one week vs a stacked Bills team.

I think so. The schedule is just too brutal, going 2-2 vs afc west would be a victory.

12-5 is my guess.
11-6 could do it.
9-8, or thereabouts, will be jostling for a wild card.

Looks like plenty of teams, including us, need to dust off the cobwebs.

Whatever the reasons, if the sea pigeons lose tomorrow, the Rams are tied for first (or last) in the NFC west after week 1. After the thrashing we took on Thursday, I'm looking at the glass half full. The whiners beat us 31-10 last season and we were doom and gloom. I trust McVay to turn it around and McSnead to get any players that can help us turn it around.

But darn, the Bills look like they're going to be tough to beat.

Glad the 9ers & Zona lost. Who knows? Pete Carroll might have magic up his sleeve.

NE looks like crap.!Raiders are interesting,Chargers are solid,& KC didn’t miss a beat. Andy Reid is always good from 1997? Don’t know when he started his career as the Eagles HC.

Lost - the survivor game. Know I will put that game to test in Tomlin is such as solid HC as well, but both those teams will change directions.
Baltimore will be tough though.Browns had a surprise win.
Saints & Tampa though.

—Rams schedule is INSANE!!

years ago the bills beat the cheats 31-0 in the first game of the year.

by the time the final game of the regular season rolled around the cheats had already won their division and beat the bills 31-0.

first game means absolutely nothing.

I’m not willing to go so far saying 9-8 will win the division, but you’re right about the afc west and the schedule in general.

If the Rams go 2-2 vs that division and 4-2 within their own, that’s 4 losses right there. Add in the bills game, and we’re talking about an 11-5 season at best without even considering games vs the packers and bucs and the usual clunker.

Everyone is overreacting week 1. If you say the cards and 9ers suck based on week 1 then you have to also say the rams suck.
And that the Giants, Bears and Texans are good, which I’m also not prepared to say yet.

Coaches always say that the biggest adjustment made is between weeks 1 and 2
Can never be too high or too low after week 1, however teams who start 0-2 have an incredibly low % of making playoffs (est 11%) while teams starting 2-0 very high % (70%) of making the post season dance
All that said, Rams will be tied for 1st place in the division after week #1 and will be a minimum of 4-2 among the NFC west

The Cardinals will win 9 or 10 games. The 49ers might if they bench Lance and start Garoppolo. Rams need at least 11 wins.

Its easy to question whether or not they achieve that after last game. I don't have the confidence I had before the game. But the Rams certainly do have the talent. Hopefully that game was a wake up call. Buffalo is a great team but the Rams made it too easy for them on both sides of the ball.

It was hard to assess the Buffalo game. Our offense sucked but we did go into halftime tied and got the ball first. Our defense forced 4 turnovers but could not force a punt. Buffalo didn't make many splashy plays. It was like watching a bad game against the whiners. For most of the game, their longest play from scrimmage was around 7 or 8 yards until Ramsey got caught looking the wrong way and got burned.

I think the Rams brain trust realizes the length of the season and plays to build their team to peak December through February. They know the division and can figure out how to do enough to win that to make the playoffs.

A good portion of the league is trying the same thing and looked like shit week 1.

I believe they’ll still win 10-12 games and be strong at the end of the year.
