It's only August 7th, but I'm not confident Henderson will be consistent or durable for the upcoming 17 game season.

Please spare me the Funk, Xavier Jones and Raymond Calais optimism. :thinking:

I understand that C.J. Anderson was a plug and play impact but he was an outlier.

There isn't a plethora of C.J Anderson's available waiting for the Rams to call at the last minute.

The Rams need to sign a RB in the next 2 weeks to learn the offense and be part of the committee.

I hope they don't wait to sign a RB three days before the new season begins.

Raymond Calais - NFL carries 0

Jake Funk - NFL carries 0

Otis Anderson - NFL carries 0


The Rams have one solid/proven RB and his resume has some question marks.

Of course almost any RB isn't likely to play all 17 games let alone the playoffs.

Not my point of the thread @Loyal

The Rams have no proven depth behind Henderson.

We need to add another RB and I hope McVay and company don't wait until 3 days prior to the start of the season to add another one.

It depends on how you define established. I'm not sure Henderson himself is established. Any decent RB with our air attack should have a massive opportunity...

Yeah that's the thing--I imagine it would take some time to learn this offense, but maybe I'm wrong. We also need somebody who can lay a block when needed. Oh and catch.

I do not see Henderson holding up if he is expected to touch the ball 20+ times a game. I’d like to see another RB that can be the plow horse and have Henderson limited to 12-14 touches per game. Keep him fresh for the end of the season.

Funk can blow up in preseason, but that doesn't mean crap of how well he will do in the regular season.

Funk is a 2 time ACL rehab on the same knee.

The Rams need to sign another RB and they better not wait until the last minute.

If I was McVay I wouldn't gable and hang my hat on this RB group heading into the regular season.

No one expected Henderson to be a cow bell and they still don’t.

Who is out there that you, @Forida_Ram would sign who you think would be better than who is currently on the roster?

Undoubtedly this will be a RB by committee year. Even Stafford has commented about the complexity of the offense.

If there was someone out there who McVay wanted, they’d already be signed. I trust they know more than we do.

I have know idea who is out there and an upgrade behind the current RB's on the roster.

This is why I'm concerned.

Losing Akers for the season is a gigantic loss. I don't know who are what is the answer to help ease his loss.

I'm merely hoping they don't sign a RB 3 three days before the season starts.

I'm not happy with the current depth of RB's on the roster and I hope McVay signs a RB that fits what he's looking for sooner than later.

Yeah this is at least the third time you have put those 0 carries lines up, we get it.

I just wanted to know who is available that you thought is better than who we have.

0 carries does not show their value, the fact that the Rams have no made a panic move says a lot about these guys.

There MIGHT be someone available after cuts start. Rest assured if the Rams FO sees someone who they think will help, they’ll make the move.

And I will put it up another 3 times.

I'm not happy with the depth of the backup RB's on the roster to win a Lombardi.

0 carries by the backups has me worried.

You can blow this off and be content. I'm concerned.

That's actually a good point, and it applies to a lot of positions. I really think as part of the agreement to go to 17 games, the NFLPA should have really pushed for bigger roster sizes and more guys dressed on gameday. Have no idea why they didn't.

I get where Florida is coming from here. I differ a bit though because I feel like RBs are best early in their career when "fresh." They might not have carries at this level, no sweat there for me. Question is do they have some skills that will translate and can they stay healthy.

On the skills side I think we're ok. Not great, because I think we lack a power back option. But our coach loves speed so what can you do.

On the stay healthy side now that's where we have probs. I expect Funk is gonna look great in this offense because he's having one of the most underrated camps ever. I mean we all write him off because of those two knees. But the dude can play and we're gonna feel him up until he gets hurt again. Jones I had high hopes for but if Funk is pushing snaps with the ones it means by basic logic that Jones is not cementing that shit right now which is what I sort of was expecting.

So right now I feel like we're gonna be up and down as F in our backfield. Inconsistent wrt who is available all year. And it will probably affect our offense, meaning we'll be a bit pass happy which I hate. I want a run game teams can't stop but at this point I have no reason to think that is gonna happen.
