This week when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Los Angeles Rams, they will face two former Steelers starters. One is cornerback Ahkello Witherspoonand the other is guard Kevin Dotson. Dotson flashed greatness as a rookie but was never able to recapture that magic after that.

Until now.

Dotson is currently the starting right guard for the Rams, having started the past three games in place of Joe Noteboom. According to the folks over at Pro Football Focus, Dotson is the highest-graded guard in the NFL this season with an 85.3 grade.

Meanwhile, for the Steelers, his replacement Isaac Seumalo has a 63.8 grade. Seumalo had his best game of the year against the Baltimore Ravens just before the bye week and hope he can continue to build on that.

Stupid stealer fucks.

He probably didn't want to maim a player when the coaches called it so they put him in the dog house.

I'm sure others have commented on it or posted on it.. the Between the Horns interview with Dotson was fun. Like that guy even more now and am thrilled he's a Ram. He should be here for a long time.

LT played poorly in the beginning.
Anyone who watched film can tell us truly how they did.

I doubt we'll be picking high enough to get a real blue chip LT next April, but if we can get one of the Tier 2 prospects, that would still be an improvement on what we have. Then a C in round 2 or 3 and the OL is sorted until Rob leaves.

New LT Avila New C Dotson Rob

Depth: Noteboom/Jackson, McClendon, Shelton, Bruss(?)/A N Other

Yup, I like Jackson as depth more than as a starter because of inconsistent play. He's a placeholder for a future upgrade at LT.

They need to finish this OL rebuild. Investing in Avila was brilliant but having an old vet QB and a porous pass protection unit is a failure in the team building side of things. It is a poor combination.

First round LT becoming more likely.
I think a few mid-level FAs on D could greatly impact that side of the ball.
Keep Witherspoon, if reasonable.. bring in another vet corner.. an edge.. and decent DL.
Another good draft & decent FA signings.
Get an edge like Z Smith or Reddick..
A corner like Bradberry… a DL like SJD…
All that is WELL within any cap issues next year and makes D a bunch better.

Imagine having the center that will go nameless along with Avila

Parsons will be head up over Jackson the whole game I think. Higbee will have to be on that side helping out. I expect a huge day for Higbee because he can drift out into the zone voids after he chips on the edge.
