Asshole Face. He's going to get axed for the pathetic defense this year. I'd keep GW and Groh. Bring in Payton's OC.

That's an interesting idea. I don't follow Payton much but him and Gregg Williams have worked together in the past. Although this reunion might make us even more of a target for the refs.....

He was a big part of the problem last night. How many times did Gabbert get a first down running right up the middle of the field on third down? No adjustment, no pressure and no blitzing in first half........Fisher can take him to the unemployment line.

I don't know yet who to bring in.

I disagree. Williams didn't have the defense going in the first half but they played their asses off after half time. Bunch of 3 and outs. They just started to lose it after the offense was stuck in a rut.

Retread or new guy? That's the question you gotta answer. Do we want to find the next Bruce Arians in risk of him being the next Steve Spagnuolo? Or do we want to hope a vet can repeat what they did in the past eg Asshole Face, Shanahan, etc.

This is where I mention again that the Rams are an ELITE job now. They are in a huge market and have an owner that is patient and who does not meddle. Their roster is not perfect but Gurley in place, a young OL, and a 1 overall QB means they have a lot of pieces in place for a quick turnaround. And this means Stan would be able to attract just about any coach he wants IMO.

How do we know he doesn't meddle? Just because nobody has talked about it? Though I don't believe there's a high probability of this being the case.......MAYBE, Just MAYBE.....

- The Goff pick was forced on Snisher by the 'unmeddlesome' owner. Remember, he had a say in going with Warner in '99.
- And MAYBE, Fisher didn't prepare Goff to play because he actually doesn't think the kid can play and would never have drafted him if not forced to do so by the owner. So, he declares Keenum the QB and prepares him to be. Wouldn't that be fairly similar to what happened in Tenn with Vince Young? Wasn't VY essentially an owner's pick?

Again, this is all hypothetical and admittedly pretty unlikely, 'but'......unless your name is Kroenke or Fisher, you can't know that it's not the case.

I say we throw the farm at Gruden. Surely if anybody can get Goff and our offense on track it's him! Not only that but we have the D.

I would push the reset button right now and let Goff play, release Quick, trade Greg Robinson, Roger Saffold, Higbee (useless), Ogletree and Barron and get whatever value back in return from these trades.

Su-hay what??? I can understand the remark about Quick ... but trade GRob right as he's starting to "get it" and come into his own? Trade Higbee, who is a rookie with exactly one game under his belt? Trade Ogletree, who has played very well in the past and is starting in a new position? Trade Barron, who played great last year in Ogletree's absence and was one of the better defenders last night? And Saffold is healthy right now?

The way to move forward is not to do the Chip Kelly method of trading away a bunch of valuable players, especially young ones that are showing promise.

Prior to last years regular season I suggested (light heartedly) so as not to anger the savage beast, the name of Jon Gruden.....at the time, there was an echo in the room......

Hello...can you hear me now?

Seriously and only in my humble opinion, being a "players coach" isn't always a good thing. Particularly when what is so badly needed is both mental toughness and a "change of leadership." This may sound corny to some, but there's an old saying that "pioneers never live to see the fort get built", which seems to apply in this instance. I've long believed that Fisher was the guy to rebuild the shambles that existed back when he was hired. But it's clear that something (fresher) is need to get this young cadre over the hump, cause it sure ain't this guy or his army of coaches.

If this is the return on investment after 5 years of excuses and promise, I say we all got cheated and/or hustled ......where do I go to get all those hours, days, weeks and years back? :baghead::giveup:

Asshole Face- has a proven track record on offense. Will likely allow us to keep Gregg Williams as DC

Mike Shanahan- His offensive philosophy will help Goff's development tremendously

Tom Coughlin- No nonsense coach. Won't hesitate to call his players out for incompetence

I prefer Payton due to his connection with Gregg Williams. Continuity on defense while implementing an offense that will work effectively

Will he, though? Isn't there some bad blood between those two from Bountygate?

Usually with the owners who meddle there are stories bubbling up all during the process. That was the case with Fish in Tennessee, where rumors were there that the pick was forced on him. It was the case with Shanahan in the Snyder situation, and really with Snyder all the way back from when he first bought the team.

But, yeah, that is my opinion. And sure, we don't really know. I mean, we all understand that we are dealing with opinions here. Don't we?

You guys clamoring for Jon Gruden need to let go of that dream. He's not leaving his MNF gig. Not gonna happen... and I have learned this from folks who are very close to him.

Fisher is going nowhere. He'll find a way to win 7 and save his job. More of that 7-9 bullcrap.

I don't think so this year, I think they will regress to 4-5 wins after yesterday and ESK will make a change.

I think our realistic option is Shanahan and I'm not really comfortable with that since he's Jeff Fisher's bff.
I would take a look at some hot shot NFL OC and even take a peak at some good college head coaches.

Not sure anyone here on ROD would like him but he's been refreshed and I wouldn't mind seeing him on the short list once we get it narrowed down to 4 or 5 solid candidates. Sorry just read the rest of the posts and he's been mentioned and @Selassie I said we have almost no chance for him :(

Well the thing here is that Fisher contract is up after this season. So technically, they wont have to "fire" Fisher to move on. I think if Fisher were to move on, it would be amicable and his "bff" would not turn it down

Ya know, IF I wanted to discuss such matters....
