It's probably the right call.

Doubt Irsay has the patience for a real rebuild. This is Pagano's first losing season and he can't even wait until it's finished. Jim Mora had a 13 win season, Jim Caldwell had a trip to the SB, that bought them nothing. One losing season and they were out the door.

Seems like a great dude but that team is flat without Luck. But I don't think it's fair to put it all on Pagano.

Also, at this point, even Jeff Fisher has to be like "How is Marvin Lewis still employed?"

DUMB.

The former GM that traded for Trent Richardson is now in Cleveland. See that pattern remains.

But yeah, fire the coach. That'll solve it.

Would be for the best but replacing him won't solve their woes. Best to keep Irsay out of the scouting department and find a reliable GM to find the draft good talent all across.

Pagano needs to go at this point, but Irsay is also a dumbass. At least they replaced Grigson with Ballard. That will help them. Grigson was the worst GM in the NFL.

Yep if Irsay is smart he'll stay the F out of Ballard's way and let him rebuild it. Course Irsay's a moron so he'll find a way to eff it up.

Oh and btw McVay's success is going to result in a lot of firings this year. Lot of owners are going to poach the F out of the hot OCs and try to replicate it. Gase had a similar impact last year, I remember being quite pi$$ed to see our vet HC outsmarted by a damn kid.

I've already had some teams fans asking me about my thoughts on LaFleur hehehe

This was an easy call and with Luck out even easier. Chris Ballard the GM is going to want his own Head Coach, but Chudzinski is well regarded by Irsay. Chud could stay, if he wins a few games, but I don't see that happening. Thank goodness Sean McVay is in Los Angeles and not sure who the Colts will turn to next season, but I'm betting their first call will be to Stanford Head Coach David Shaw and once Shaw again says he's never leaving Palo Alto, your guess is a good as mine.

Chuck Pagano could be a new DC someplace, maybe he joins his good friend in Arizona, unless Arians resigns after the Cardinals end up being 3-13 this season.

Speaking of this, it reminds me... Rams have the kind of "zero poachability" of coaching brain trust that teams like Green Bay have made a killing off of for years. Offensive guru locked in the HC position, and defensive guru locked a guy who probably isn't interested in doing the HC gig again.

IMO it's going to be the model for this era due to the importance of QB and the need to have someone on staff who isn't poachable that can ensure the right teaching is there. We are set up for the future nicely IF they continue to draft and work FA well.

I bet they call Jimmy Harbaugh, but there's zero chance he wants to work with Irsay.

I was thinking the same thing. Harblah will get a call. However, he looks like toast. I think he is tired of college ball already. He looks beat down and his prospects for future B1G championships are grim. He has recruited some very talented players but not to the level of Ohio State. The ones he does have are not all developing as expected either. His defensive game plan was horrible against PSU. He can't handle Dantonio. Things don't seem to be working out as planned in Michigan.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him jump ship.

It wouldn't surprise me to see him go in the next couple of years. But I think he'll go to somewhere in the NFL with an owner willing to give him complete control.

Well, it's not firing the coach, it's the hiring! Heck, Rams did good firing, not hiring until...

Harbaugh has his own problems as that team up North just got manhandled from the Whiteout at Beaver Stadium. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how this plays out because I felt as soon as they made this move and promoted Chudzinski, then Luck would come back and they would win some games to keep him, but maybe they won't bring back Luck at all.

Funny how bad many of us (including yours truly) want Chudzinski as OC a few years ago and the Rams did ask for permission, but were denied.
