A big receiver with good hands would be nice to have but it’s not a glaring need IMO. KC and GB don’t have one and they will enjoy bye weeks because Mahome and Rodgers can avoid a rush and buy time to make a good throw.
Kelce??

Corbett is smart enough to play Center. Hav is fine. He has always struggled with speed. The sack today was more a coverage sack than anything. Edwards is fine. Whit is Whit. Get a really good RG and we're cooking. If we still had Saffold, I think we'd be one of the best OLs in the NFL.

corbett seems to block the wrong guy when blythe is making the line calls not sure he can make those calls him self. you say that hav has always had trouble with speed. so if he give up a sack a game and maybe a hurry that is not good. we have whit for maybe a year or 2 more then we replace him with boom who most believe is a poor run blocker. just not seeing where we are 1 player away from a good ol. anyway i will defer to your judgment on this one.

I thought Wolford played extremely well but had the same issues with the OL that Goff has. Only difference was Wolford was able to run out of trouble much better. However, Goff would definitely have read the field better in this game. There were open receivers that when Goff is on, completes them where the receiver can run after the catch.

I would like Wolford to do an RPO option at least a couple times each half when Goff is playing just to change things up. Something that NO does with Hill and Brees. Even put Goff and Wolford in on the same play with a trick play option.

Just a thought.

On board with a Werewolf formation with Wolford as a change of pace.

According to PFF, Havenstein had given up 3 sacks on the year coming into today. That means the sack today was his 4th. And that sack was on the QB. Wolford had a wide open Gerald Everett underneath. But instead of getting rid of the ball at the top of his drop, he held onto it for far too long looking for something deep. On Corbett, I don't agree. I haven't seen him blocking the wrong guy often. We still have to find a Whit replacement imo. So that's one starter and one future LT.

Do we have a QB controversy?

Nope. If Goff is healthy enough to go, he plays. If he's not, Wolford goes.

No 2 games are the same, we destroyed seattle then got destroyed.
Their merits stand alone, our 2 qb's are on the same team glad they both beat AZ something we couldn't do in SF or Seattle

Lol

I'm not trying to disparage Wolford's efforts tonight he impressed me but if Goff had put up as many yards with no touchdowns the usuals would be calling for his head, the double standard, I swear...
Difference between someone who’s a #1 pick and gets every snap for months on end and an UDFA who gets zero snaps before last Monday.

There’s a huge disparity there of expectations and just getting reps to be better. I’ve been very unimpressed by Goff’s play.

Yet this Saturday I want Goff not Wolford under center! Lol

Yeah, I think we can all admit that Goff has disappointed of late and Wolford deserves mad props for helping the team win a pivotal game. But it was also easy to see today that Goff is the best QB we have. I hope he's good to go against Seattle.

There’s zero chance that we have a QB controversy but at least we know that we have a backup that brings another element to the offense. If McVay loves what he saw in Wolford maybe he brings him in a couple of plays a game when he needs Goff to settle down a bit. Who really knows?

We’re in the playoffs and we’re gonna roll with whoever coach decides to put in. Goff should start if his thumb feels good and hopefully after seeing Wolford operate he elevates his game - particularly looking deep a little more often.

Van Jefferson deserves more playing time and Everett needs to ride the bench until he finds a new team. Hell, Reynolds could probably fill his role considering they both play equally as soft.
