Does anyone have any Idea where we stand after the moves we have made so far?

Saw today that we're still anywhere from 1-4 million over.

Bookmark this and check back the day after moves or later in that same day sometimes.

Another one here and these two process and apply things at different speeds.

based on that, seems like Higs is next by Wednesday.
They still have Wagner listed on there for some reason. Not sure why Floyd was removed but not Wagner. I guess some timing issue that they are waiting to officially release Wagner.

With Wagner we will be slightly under the cap, but we don’t have enough players signed.

Unless I am seeing things wrong, more cuts or contract work is coming.

These things take time to update for full details to be released etc. Also Ramsey trade can't be official until tomorrow when the league year starts. You look today and I think it shows us having $6 million in cap space where yesterday when I posted those links we were over.

I think they did something with Noteboom....because now it shows Noteboom as a additional 15M cap hit if released. I don't recall seeing that before. Maybe I am wrong, but that would indicate they restructured him for that additional cap room.

is this what you mean by cap room?

Restructured him

seems like they knew this year was going to take a lot of unloading regardless of what happened last year.

OTC has us 6 + mil under with Noteboom's restructure. The thing that is weird is they still have Wagner listed and his release should give them 5 mil more.

My guess

Savings:
Floyd (3 mil)
Ramsey (4.5 mil)
7 of top 51 (4.75 mil)
Noteboom (9 mil)
= 21.25 >>>> we were 14.8 over >>>>
21.25 minus 14.8 = 6.45 under >>>>>>
plus Wagner's 5 mil >>>> we should be 11.45 under on the 15th.

Enough to resign Gaines or A'Shawn and Scott plus enough to sign draft picks and a little for the unexpected

I'm assuming they are waiting to file Wagner's paperwork as they haven't decided on it being a pre or post june 1st move? Not sure but seems like everywhere still has him listed and that's the only reason I can think. Keeping their options open till the end I guess. I thought they would do that with Floyd too but I guess they have a plan.

Sounds reasonable. The difference?

Pre June 1 release = 5 mil csp savings
Post June 1 = 8.mil in cap savings

By my math we could be 11.45 or 14.45 under the cap on the 15th.

I had read though that you don't get that cap savings until June though if designated as a June release.

So not sure they can do that. If they were $15M under then they could do that, but barely being under, they need the cap savings now.

That's right.

Wagner is a free agent right now but if the Rams "Designate" his release as a post-June 1 move, they would have more cap space in 2023 but less in 2024 because they would be pushing-off some of the dead-$ until next year.

However, the math does not apply until post-June 1. So there is no current impact on the current Rams' cap.

The $7M-$8M of cap space they currently appear to have may be enough for the up-coming draft class, so if they decide to hold-off on any free agent signings, that amount may be enough. Not an exciting possibility. There are also always other moves (restructures) to create immediate cap space.

I see the $$ going to some low-end vets to fill in gaps this season. I'm thinking older edge guys.. that kind of thing.

We'll see.

I was hearing a Kupp restructure could also happen, which would free up considerably more. However, if they are punting this year, not sure its the best idea to bump his money down the road. I'm really not a fan of this cap thing......
