Can We Start Talking Playoffs?

Our Rams, this year, this season kick ass! Only way the Rams don't make the playoffs is if this happens, and it ain't gonna happen:

Sure, why not? "One game at a time" is great for the players, but we're just fans. What we do or don't talk about has no affect on how the players play the games.

My standard is old school baseball-- you couldn't talk about winning the pennant until you were 30 games over .500. So I'm going to raise you one game-- 10 wins and we can talk playoffs. (Of course 10 wins and we'll actually be in the playoffs.)

So I'm thinking playoffs but, not going to be posting about it just yet.

Hell no, it’s not too early to at least talk about playoffs!

Not only are the Rams 6-2, but they are an impressive 5-0 on the road.

But here’s the most impressive thing about the Rams to me. They are improving in all 3 phases.

They’ve simply crushed their last two opponents six ways from Sunday. So, if the Rams keep improving as we play these next 8 games? Look out!

And given that the Rams have these 3 masterminds at the helm in those 3 phases in McVay, Phillips, and Fassel?

Ummmmm...

I’ll be honest. I wouldn’t trade any of those coaches for any other in the entire league at their respective positions.

Any reason to believe that the team won’t further improve? Much less drop off?

That's the spirit 43:cheers: Rams are well on their way to making the playoffs. Anyone watching the seahags lose tonight can see they are not getting better, and are mostly one dementional while the Rams keep improving with each game. Rams are in sole possession of 1st place :rockon:

Rams get a playoff tune up in a few weeks when the Eagles come to town

The good news is that we aren't just beating the teams we should, but we're hammering them.

And with new guys and TWO completely new systems being put in place, our team now is substantially better than the team that started the season (heck, you can SEE how comfortable Goff is running this offense).

I expect as McVay, Wade and the rest of the coaching staff continue to install, teach, coach, reinforce and prepare that the team at the end of this season will be substantially better than the team we saw play pretty well today.

I think the common sentiment is to be excited about each win and celebrate how much fun it is to watch THIS iteration of the Rams. I also think that fans, after so many years of disappointment (and a little superstitious) are reticent to take any team or game for granted and project future wins or success.

Sure, expectations are creeping in, but even fans are buying into McVay's "one game at a time" approach.

What's crazy is that 5 of our remaining 8 games are against likely playoff teams. 4 against division leaders right now (Titans, Vikings, Saints, Eagles). We beat a good Jags team and a good Cowboys team....looks like we need to go at least 2-3 in those games. Should be fun.
