He also said he didn't want a guarantee of a starters job he just wanted into a camp to play it out and see if he got the #1 or #2 job.
He said he didn't want a guarantee, but wanted a contract that would pay him as a starter if he won it, even if he entered camp as the #2 guy - which is not the norm for free agent contracts, especially for a guy with the issues of being demoted and not a #1 QB any longer. Baltimore would have signed him, but he wanted an atypical contract for a guy entering camp as a backup.
