Could Brock Osweiler be traded for the second time this year?

The Browns have renewed their attempt to trade Osweiler, something it was clear they were trying to do when they showcased him as their starter in two preseason games even though it appears that they plan to start DeShone Kizer when the regular season begins.

The question, of course, is why any team would want to trade for Osweiler and his $16 million salary. That salary is the reason the Browns were able to get the Texans’ 2018 second-round draft pick when Osweiler was traded from Houston to Cleveland in March. No one is trading for Osweiler at his current salary.

But if the Browns are able to work out a deal that includes Cleveland paying part of Osweiler’s salary, perhaps he’d be attractive enough that some team would give up a late-round draft pick for him. The Browns’ top priority is acquiring draft picks to build for the future, and if they can pull off two Osweiler trades that bring them picks in one year, they’ll take that as a big win.

But it's OK, because they really just paid for a 2nd round pick in the deal.

The Jags might bite, but for a low pick.

Let's trade them for ESPN punching bag Jared Goff and a 3rd rounder because they are getting the short end here.

It's true though, the Browns had no real interest in him. They took on his contract for a 2nd rounder and a 6th in exchange for a 4th. The Texans would have to have the worst management to trade a (starting)QB, a 2nd round pick, and 6th round pick for a 4th to a QB needy team. Everyone knew Osweiler was garbage after he was benched for Savage.

Did they actually evaluate Kizer's play the other night?!!! He looked like a deer in headlights.

TERRIBLE, terrible idea to start him right away. I would strongly reconsider that plan and instead either keep Brock to start the first few games, or take one on the chin and let Kessler start. Kizer will be Carr'ed if he starts right away, no doubt about it.

Before they got lucky and bailed, his former team began calling him Tavon Osweiler...

Poor Brock.

He is like that one fruitcake that gets re-gifted for years and years around Christmas time.

The Browns are not known for making good football decisions.
Especially at quarterback.

I'm not going to name any names.
Except for;
Johnny Manziel
Tim Couch
Brady Quinn
RG3
Brock Osweiler
