The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot believes the Browns are not done upgrading at quarterback, and expects the team to target either Oregon QB Marcus Mariota or current Eagles QB Sam Bradford.

It's no secret by now that the Browns previously tried to trade the No. 19 overall pick for Bradford, first to the Rams and (allegedly) later to the Eagles. Specifically, Cabot writes that she thinks the Browns "will try to trade up to draft Marcus Mariota, and I also think they could make another run at Sam Bradford." If the Eagles are willing to deal Bradford as rumored, they would presumably want both of Cleveland's first-round picks with eyes on getting to No. 2 overall, where Mariota is likely to be selected.

Something like this might work: #Browns get: Sam Bradford + No. 52 + No. 113 #Titans get: Nos. 12 + 19 #Eagles get: No. 2 (Mariota)

We should all hope Bradford gets traded. It eliminates any chance of the Rams having to give back a pick to the Eagles next year. The Rams still would get the 2nd from the Eagles but owe nothing back to them.

It depends on our chances to land Mariota.
The only way the Eagles deal Bradford, is to land Mariota. It would seem to have to be a guarantee, for the Eagles, to be put in position to draft him.

Agreed!

From Peter King's MMQB:

I think I can now say with certainty that The Other Team in the chase for Sam Bradford—as many have inferred—was Cleveland. The Browns would have been willing to part with a first-round pick in either 2015 or 2016 (I do not know which year) for Bradford, but there were two problems: One, the Browns didn’t have a quarterback to give in return, and Philadelphia was willing to fork over Nick Foles. Two, Bradford would not have been willing to sign a new contract this off-season if he were traded to Cleveland, and he is willing to consider an extension in Philadelphia. So the Philly deal was really the only one that made sense for the Rams and for Bradford, in the end.

I think he could get things done behind that Cleveland line. That's a stout unit. Granted they're missing Gordon and Cameron now, but they're in a position to land a DeVante Parker. There's a small part of me that secretly roots for the Browns, but usually I snuff that part out.

Plus it makes for a great story line with Cleveland coming to the Ed this fall!

Sure about that? I thought the conditions apply no matter the team Bradford is playing for.

The pick is predicated on how many games Sam plays for the Eagles. If he isn't on the team there is no draft pick compensation.

Eagles will surrender 2016 2nd-round pick to Rams in QB trade no matter what. But will get back a conditional 2016 pick from Rams. It will be a 3rd if Bradford does not play at all; and a 4th if he starts less than 50 percent of plays.
