Adam Schefter reports:
Cardinals’ DE J.J. Watt will undergo what is now likely to be season-ending shoulder surgery, sources tell ESPN. No date set yet for surgery.

Watt hurt his shoulder in the second quarter Sunday and still managed to play the rest of the game with the injury.

Watt was playing like a man possessed from what I saw in various Cardinal games. He will be missed but this also definitely helps the Rams!!

They'll miss his leadership out there too I think.

It's too bad, I think he's a good dude and it's a shame if that team makes a strong run and he has to watch. After all the shit he's endured in Houston.

Just don't feel bad. Maybe for Watt but not them. If you spend big FA money on old injury prone guys and count on them to start and play well all season you're playing with fire. He was playing well.
I could see them try to swing a deal before the deadline for more help up front.

AJ Green next? He's also old, injury prone and playing well.

Never want to see a player injured.

Having said that, I've lost some respect for Watt this year. Was hitting Stafford late and I saw it against another team too. Not sure if he's always teetered on the edge of being a dirty player, but noticed it this year.

Murray also made his first trip to the tent in that game. He has never been out long term with an injury but he gets dinged up more than most and by seasons end is playing pretty banged up.
His style of play and his stature work against his health.

Don’t tell NFL Network or ESPN that. They felt it was a celebration worthy signing.
Was a solid veteran move. And I was worried IF he'd stay healthy he'd be a thorn in our ass. But wasn't too worried with his injury history.

He missed quite a few games the previous 5 years. He's 32 years old. You take a chance signing a guy like that. How much impact his loss will be remains to be seen. He's not the guy who got 20 sacks years ago.

I hate it for him as a player, but let's be honest it does help our Rams. You think their fans would feel bad if one of our star players went down.

was he on the field when we played AZ? I don't recall hearing his name or seeing him...
