If Reeder was included, the Rams would have to ADD more draft choices.

Seriously though, you don't think the Falcons could do better?

For a TE? Probably not. He's shown flashes of brilliance but then he disappears for games at a time. And it's not like the Falcons don't have other weapons around him. He reminds me a lot of Everette, great athlete with great hands, but has games where he simply doesn't show up or maybe he's not part of the game plan. Hard to say.

I see, yeah maybe a team out there that'd do it. A team like the Chiefs would be obvious candidates but the Raiders would be dumb giving their division rival a weapon to help them win another super bowl. There's plenty of crap teams out there needing WR help but Adams would want to go there is the problem. I'm guessing he'll flex what leverage he has to not go to someplace like the Titans.
I'm definitely interested in seeing if their only asking for a 2nd causing a bit of a bidding war to get them the best deal. I don't think it would be too dumb to trade him to the Chiefs if they can get a shit ton of picks out of them. Doubt Adams has very many elite years left as he's definitely getting up there.

Stafford may lose interest if there isn’t a clear game plan for success. Not seeing it yet this year other than getting some nice rookies.
Well, they will have more cap room next year to make significant veteran additions including one or two high priced vets.

But what would you give-up is the question.
Hmm Ivw got rams glasses on your probably more realistic but a fourth I'd try a fifth and long. How about you? I do think he'd be worth a 3rd if I take my rams glasses off

I just don't see a 5th, or even a 4th, being enough.

I get that Pitts has been a disappointment but he was the 4th overall pick in 2021 because he was viewed to have elite and unique talent. He had an excellent rookie season; and then played with Marcus Mariota and Desmond Ridder at QB the next two seasons. Pitts will only turn 24 later this week; and is under contract through 2025 after Atlanta picked-up his 5th year option.

Hunter Long is nothing but a throw-away.

Anything is possible. Teams dump talented young players. Hell, the Rams dumped their best off-ball-LB for next to nothing. Did see an article that suggested Pitts was not giving max effort, and that's the kind of thing that could make a team want to move-on from him. However, teams, with cap space would clearly offer more than a 4th or 5th in my opinion.

Most players simply cannot put up the consistency we take for granted with the greats.

So yeah Pitts isn't going to suddenly be a beast in this offense. He would pull the same BS. Of course McVay probably wants him because he is a sucker for athletic TEs.

Lol, people in the media just can't help themselves. There are no reports coming from the Rams. No inside sources saying they're considering trading Kupp. Just writers and bloggers suggesting players like Kupp could or should be traded. Kupp is not only a player. He's like an assistant coach. It would take a lot to pry him from McVay.

I will read any reports that mention the Rams potentially trading Kupp provided it contains one thing ... a mention of the salary cap implications. Otherwise, it would be a waste of time.

By-the-way, I DO NOT anticipated reading many (or any) such reports.

To me, Pitts is a more talented but less motivated, version of Jared Cook

Wow, that's saying a lot because I always thought Cook was about the least motivated dude on those sad sack teams of ours. Could have been a great TE and would flash, especially once he went to Packers and was held more accountable, but just didn't seem to give a shit.

I don't know what Pitts issue is... motivation, intelligence, the offense... not sure. Being that Raheem took Zac Robinson with him to be the OC I'm guessing Atlanta's offense has at least a similarity to McVay's and he's performing even worse than previous years in it. Soooo, not real keen on trading for the dude unless it's basically for free.

Another example of "Looks like Tarzan, but plays like Jane...."

Having watched them a bit this year i agree. If he's not a 1st option he takes plays off. And that's a better look than his "blocking". I think i can block better than him.

Agree 100%
I am no cap expert, but do find the whole process fascinating. One thing I am unclear about (and to your point is NEVER brought up) is the dead cap implications. I assume they just go to the 2025 cap but am not entirely sure

OTC shows a post June trade this year, which would be similar to being traded now, actually frees up 20M in cap space. It would be less than that because they already paid home for 4 weeks this year.

Trading him next year pre June 1st, would save 12M. Releasing him pre June 1st, saves 7.5M.

Now I dont see anyway they would or could trade him now. Nobody is picking up that contract for an oft injured Kupp. And McVay wouldn't trade him.

Now, next year they may have to make a tough decision and recoup that cap room.

If it's even just a release you get that extra 7.5M, add in about 3.5M for Higbee, and you now add $11M in extra cap space to spend next yr on top of a projected $55M.

They can really revamp the roster next year in FA.

Agreed I knew I was going to be biased lol so you think what then a 3rd plus a 5th?

The Athletic suggests Atwell and a 4th could be a viable option for Adams. I'd have to consider this as there is no way you can guarantee Kupp or Puka come back at 100% or don't immediately re-injure themselves (like Puka has already done). Best case, both Kupp and Puka are 100% at start of next year and we could move Adams for something.

NOTE - My won would be devastated because Tutu is his favorite player, but, he'd probably feel better having Adams out there.
