Mayo is one in a somewhat long line of Belichick deciples who tried "The Patriot Way" and failed. From what I've seen/heard/read it was probably his off of the field decisions and press conferences that weighed heavily in his firing. Kind of reminds me a little of Joe Judge in NY.

I wonder if their DC is next? I know pretty much everyone on their forums think he should be fired.

I never know what to feel when teams come after our scouting department b/c we're doing so well at that. But...if Farmer were hired as GM, we get two 3rd round picks.
Its frustrating to lose coaches every year, but at the same time it speaks volumes about how good McVay really is. McVay just keeps winning with new coaches. It seems like almost every week the Rams face a team with a coach that was once a Rams coach under McVay.

McVay has to keep ahead of himself, and is still winning.

McDaniels is a good gameplanner as long as you have a personality to keep his ass in check. He and Vrabel would be a strong combo hire for both sides of the ball.

That's probably the most desired job in the NFL right now. Every time I watched Maye I thought to myself damn if he had a real OC...

Funny thing is you can tell that some owners have zero fucking chance to win shit in this league, just by the coaches they are targeting. I mean damn. Do some of these dudes pay any attention.
Seems quite a few owners are just as bad as the one that moved the Rams from LA to St. Louis and would usually hire the worst HCs available.
So glad those days are gone!

Haha yessss. He wasn't the problem lol
If there's truth to this SI article, and Macdonald's comments reflect it, it seems like Grubb wasn't listening to his HC. Their OL had injury issues and struggled to block, having your OC abandon the run only makes it worse.

I recall s as ll of the accolades he was getting in 2021 leading up to the Super Bowl.

Nagy? How do some guys get more chances?

Leave the Les’s crew alone please.

The picks would be nice, but if they lose Farmer, they likely lose a few more from the scouting department. Plus they would use their Rams intel in this draft, which sucks in a year the Rams will be picking late and don’t have a second round pick.

Holmes picked a few Rams targets in his first draft with the Lions.
Lets hope they hire Rex before they hire a GM. Maybe that will keep Farmer from taking the job. Hell working for the Johnsons should be repellent enough, but who knows.

First-time HC with a shit roster following a HOFer who could only win four games with a very similarly shit roster the year before. I wasn't the least bit surprised by their results this year. Kraft will probably come out of this ahead because Vrabel is a good HC, but he handled it poorly.
Mayo was nothing more than a place holder till someone better came along. He was dead on arrival.

Titans fire GM Ran Carthon; Brian Callahan to remain coach

The Tennessee Titans fired general manager Ran Carthon on Tuesday after finishing 3-14 this season and earning the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft.

"It's impossible to ignore that our football team hasn't improved over the past two years. I am deeply disappointed in our poor win-loss record during this period, of course, but my decision also speaks to my concern about our long-term future should we stay the course," team owner Amy Adams Strunk said in a statement.

The Titans said that Brian Callahan will continue as the team's head coach and that president of football operations Chad Brinker will lead the search for the franchise's next general manager.

Carthon had been the Titans' general manager since January 2023, and the team went 9-25 in his two seasons. Callahan was hired as the Titans' coach last year, replacing Mike Vrabel, who was fired after the 2023 season.

They fired GM John Robinson who had done a good job there to hire Carthon and now Carthon is fired. Amy Adams Strunk is proving to be just as good of an owner as her Daddy Kenneth Stanley "Bud" Adams Jr.

Once again, Robert Kraft will out maneuver the New York Jets for his Head Coach.
Not a high bar...

DEI hire? Strange take. Mayo was the handpicked successor to Belichick years before Bill left.

I don't like the firing. Mayo deserved a better shot at building the team. Maybe he ended up having some disagreements with Kraft, that led to this. Vrabel is not much of an upgrade. He didn't do any better once his Titans roster went to shit. And he had a hand in that. Its hard to win with a bad roster.
Vrabel is kind of a Fisher 2.0. Teams play hard, mostly competitive right until everything falls apart and occasionally has some actual real success.

How McVay keeps successfully replacing coaches is impressive.

I'm more fine though with losing coaches every year than I am with the scouting department getting poached.

Now get a better kicker.
If they cut Moody, he will just go somewhere else and do well there. I would bring in some competition like Matthew Wright for example, who seems to always get picked up, kick well, but never stays on a roster.
