My guess is that Ryan is unhappy with their rushing attack. last year they lead the NFL in rushing w/ 152 yd/game. After 2 games this year, they are 76 yd/game. They need to lower the defensive possessions.

Absolutely UN-EFFING-BELIEVABLE. I am stunned by that news.

If I were the owner I would fire Ryan for even attempting to blame Greg Roman for his failing.

But now, yes, hire him immediately as "Assistant Offensive Quality Control Specialist" but pay him as a full positional coach along with the promise that he will be considered for the OC job if Boras doesn't cut it. DO IT NOW!!!!

Well, he can't fire his Defensive Coordinator because as the song goes..."He ain't heavy, he's my brother."

Or Shady has just been mediocre so far. And Bush stinks.

Is Roman actually a good offensive coordinator? I remember loving when we added josh McDaniels and then he dudded and went to new England and has a potent offense again. Why does that happen?

When he came to the 9ers with Harbaugh, Alex Smith was a first round "bust" QB and their offense looked a lot like ours. That same year they were an absolutely different unit.

Greg Roman is a top ten OC in this league IMO. He is one of very few meat 'n potatoes type OCs who know how to field a good running game but also score points and he can make you successful with lesser QB options.

Ryan is insane. And stupid.

Time of possession not good for the Bills and not being able to run was Roman's undoing. If Rexy is going down, it's going to be with his guys.

H
Isn't this Boras' first season with the Rams? I'm going to wait a bit and see.

For those more familiar with the NFL, do OC's make drastic changes to the plays in their first year?
He was a TE coach and was promoted at the end of last year to OC, after well you know.....
I guess he is going to be learning while on the job, but if you can't find anyone else willing to take the job just throw a warm body in the seat.

Time of possession as you know is not just an offensive stat. Defenses dictate their own ability to get off the field, and in Buffalo's case they were the reason their ToP was so bad. Telling an offense they're scoring too quickly is moronic and everybody in the league knows that Ryan just scapegoated his OC for he and his brother's defensive failings.

It's BS through and through.

ok I didn't read all the posts but:
---First and foremost;
-Fisher doesn't think anything is wrong with the offense
---Second
-Roman is not the yes man Fisher would be looking for
-Roman doesn't run the offense that Fisher wants
-Roman would be a fool to come to this dumpster fire

I believe he was on Fisher's short list when Shotty left

Bull.

Hes a scapegoat here. Didn't they have some quick scores last night? And were leading at least twice. It was their defense. How about Stephen Gilmore getting picked on, and that other CB, Ronald Darby.

But hey...fire the OC.

None of the NFL reporters I follow on Twitter can make any sense of this move by Rex Ryan.

I reckon it comes down to his ego. Roman probably said something Rex didn't like and its cost him his job. That same ego will stop Rex from ever accepting any job in the future that isn't as a head coach.

Can you imagine any HC wanting him as their DC?

Probably should have said it differently. Meaning my opinion was how he was/is going to spin the situation. Which is not true. The situation i reality is that the Ryan defense has been exposed and along with the injuries mean they are in a major problem on defense.

I wonder if he'd make a good replacement for Fisher.............................
