It's just my wife and I now....We tately make a big meal for just ourselves anymore, so we are thinking of going out today for the meal. We have Applebees, Golden Corral and Cracker Barrel. I don't know if Golden Corall is open due to Covid, but I know that Cracker Barrel is...But assuming all three are open, which do you choose?

\Or do you just get a Thanksgiving Pizza?

Well, I’m a bad one for advice because I don’t have much access to either of those chains... but for me; Cracker Barrel breakfast, specifically the Country Boy Special is one of my favorites (doesn’t sound “Thanksgiving“ though).

I have never been to any of those, so you are on your own.

but surely there must be some higher rated restaurants in your area

Cracker Barrel has that fried turkey...made like fried chicken. Looks good. Golden Corral would be sweet. Applebees....eh. doesnt match my taste much.

Yea Cracker Barrel probably isn't a big thing in the New England area. You can tell the different in taste buds around here. You talked about making an oyster stuffing and I was so thrown off I told everyone with ears around me about that shit. Everyone had the same reaction. Lol

there are some CB's in the area and have passed quite a few in our travels, but being small business owners ourselves, we tend to support smaller businesses and avoid chain restaurants, especially in the current business atmosphere where small businesses are struggling to make ends meet

Well, we went to Golden Corral and it was very good. They sliced the turkey in front of me from the breast and it was so juicy. Candied sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing and turkey gravy. I made a nice crunchy side salad to go with it. It was so good and no dishes...lol

I have never been a big turkey fan. I prefer prime rib on Thanksgiving.

Back in the day, I used to get the businessman's prime rib lunch at the Butcher Shop in Kearney Mesa, when they had the lingerie show. LOL Yeah, a live show where the women would model lingerie going from table to table. There were times I barely could taste the meal I was so distracted. Ahhhh those were the days.

I often would take clients there and it never failed.

Thanksgiving Pizza over all those places. You could also use GrubHub, and pick any restaurant from a lot of different places.

Not in Kansas, bro....I was mentioning the only places that might be open. We could have gotten Pizza, but my wife wanted a traditional meal and so did I. But we had to drive about an hour to get there from where I live...

Peking Duck @ my favorite Chinese restaurant Hunan J in lewis center ohio. sadly there will be no xmas Peking Duck either this year. oh well, my godson and his wife are excellent cooks and had a fantastic meal of smoked pork butt, smoked duck, homegrown 26 lb turkey and boatloads of sides that were all good. no "weak" dishes in the lot. hope everyone enjoys the holidays regardless of this year. only 35 days left of it!
