Ah man, woman chords! Well, I like the rough crowd like already mentioned Janis Joplin and crazy girls like Alanis Morissette. Then there is Stevie Nix. Beautiful sound comes from ladies like Sarah Mclachlan and Alison Krauss.

Sade is my fave though. Has been since I first heard her. Soooo smooth and sexy. One of the hottest females I have ever seen and she has only gotten better with age. I would take a bite out of that real estate for sure.

This is going way back and not everyone is into American soul music but one of my all time favorites is Aretha. Holy shyte that woman could belt out a tune!
So many other great names on this thread: Ann Wilson, Annie Lennox, Crazy by Patsy Cline, etc....can't think of their names but the Indigo Girls were a great duo that nobody mentioned. Also not particularly a country fan but always had a thing for Natalie Maines from Dixie Chicks.
 
Adelle might have the range...but her songs are awful.

Great list so far. I think someone mentioned Aretha Franklin, if not she should be included. Also Gladys Knight and though I'm not a huge fan I think Mariah Carey has incredible range
 
I've a soft spot for Anita Baker! Love her voice and style! Lots of other gals in these post I like also!
 
so this girl on "The Voice" last night started singing last night while I was in the other room working on my taxes... jumped right out of my chair to go watch her....she is 17 !!!!
