The Patriots beat us twice in the Super Bowl, and neither win was due to Tom Brady. Belichick is an all-time great defensive mind. His big mistakes were making himself GM (he did a poor job of bringing in offensive talent) and hiring offensive staff after McGenious left to coach the Raiders.
Spot on. The Rams got Belichick’d twice.

Belichick’d-definition-verb
Your high powered offense gets unexpectedly neutralized by Bill Belichick’s defense in a big game.

Respectfully disagree. Tom Brady did just enough to overcome Belicheat's piss poor offensive plan. I won't take away that Belicheat is a very good D coordinator. But he has failed at every head coaching stop when his QB was not named Tom Brady.
He got Browns to playoffs, was building a winner from a team that was not good after Shotty and then the team moved in the middle of the season. Browns were on their way. All they needed there was the team not to move and announced it midseason. back then you had time to build a team, 3-4 years anyway.

People can dislike him because of the accusations of things but the "Brady made Belichick" idea is something Brady 100% rejects. He knows it's a lie, he gets asked about it and says it's garbage.

I get that Rams fans have issues with the guy. We all wonder about 2001. But I also am not going to believe things that are not true. It's a last take by people who think Browns, for him to have been successful, had to win a Super Bowl in 4 years. Anything less is called a failure.

The rug was pulled out from under him by an owner who was not making enough money and saw a lucrative opportunity in Baltimore.

The cheating was real.

He cheated, i hate him, and he took two superbowls from us. But hell of a coach. League will be different without him.

But really it was time. What even was that OC personnel choice after McD left?

Love or hate him he was a generational defensive mind. Paired with an all time great QB meant his team was always in it.

And also a disgusting cheater.

Age also probably factors in here as well. There is a shelf life on even the greatest innovators.

As a Rams fan I am enjoying the morning of his demise. Couldn't happen to a nicer filthy bastid.

How many of you think he will take another HC job in the NFL ?

And where do you see him accepting that new gig ?

He was the leader one of the most successful dynasties in sports history.

Was he a cheater? Probably but if I'm being honest - I don't know who cheats or who doesn't - or if they all do.

Either way though glad he is gone. if he keeps coaching, I think it's a mistake for him.

He also had a dynasty on being a douche nozzle in press conferences.

Football is a team sport that requires more than one player to win: Fans hate a portion of that equation = Head coach sucks....it was all the QB.

You can hate Bill for a lot of stuff, but when people make statements that it wasn't him is just pure foolish. It was all of them and that's why they won so much.

* ever wonder how awesome Brady would have been on the old Lions or Browns teams? Yeah, I'm sure it was all Tom. lol!

He will get another job. May already be in the works. .. will be a place he has control. Could see Panthers. But does he think they need a QB?

Chargers --- weak owner but QB in place. Some really good players. Not sure he's an LA guy but for right $$$ and with that QB ...

Falcons seem like a match, owner seems like a match ... they have no QB.

Honestly don't know but he will coach until he gets the wins record. That's the end game

The falcons job does seem like a possible fit for him. I hadn't thought about that one.

I'm not so sure another team will hire a soon to be 72 year old head coach. Teams seem to be looking for the young hot shot guys. Basically looking for the next Sean McVay. The game has passed coaches like Carroll and Belichick by. You need a good defense but these days you ain't winning a championship if you don't have a good offense with a good quarterback. No matter how good the defense is.

I think the argument against the Chargers is that they won't give him control or money he wants. Interestingly, that would/should be the same sticking point with them and Harbaugh.

Yes...that is my thought. Weak (and cheap) owner ... but QB in place.

Panthers --- is that Qb going to be anything? Early returns are not good, but I don't write anyone after a year. But they blew it compared to who they could have had.

Owner is impatient ... but could be enamored by Bill B. Carolina is great place to live ... owner would pay $$$ ...

I've had suspicions that the Panthers deal has been done for a while -- or should I say speculation. They have to go through process but if I were to guess that would be place.

Yeah, Young is so interesting and don't think we can write him off but so much work needs to be done to create a functional offense around him that I think any chance he has may be ruined by the time that happens.

He's not a run around guy which can help mitigate the shortness he has (Russ and Murray). I haven't watched enough of him to know this but he's gotta become a savant at pocket movement like Brees to find throwing lanes. That's a tough assignment.

One encouraging this is that even with that slight build - SO SLIGHT! - he made it through a season relatively unscathed.

Panthers have to be beside themselves especially after what Stroud has done.

I don't see Belicheat taking a job with a rookie or 2nd yr QB (except the texans).

I bet he goes with a team that has, or signs, an experienced QB with a winning track record.
