Well, it seems that Mayfield and his agent couldn’t see the big picture.

Rams (and McVay) would have been a perfect environment for BM to polish his skills.

Might have been an ideal place to start after Stafford’s injury/retirement which should come soon.

But no, they chose to chase the rainbow with Bucs and a $4.5M salary with incentives for one year. Sigh…

I agree. As unrealistic as it was, I was hoping BM would stay. But the market is the market and he’s now all-in with the Bucs. Understandable to take the cash with another team, but somewhat risky, IMO.

I guess at the end of it all, it’s good to have a good BM, but if it’s a bad BM then you have to flush. Perhaps that’s what the Rams accomplished. Who knows?!
 
I'm surprised it is only a 1 year deal and I did think he'd eclipse 10 mill.
Either way, he was never going to stay with the Rams, so good for him. I think its a decent place to play with the WR crew he has to work with there

The contract is not a ringing endorsement for Mayfield. He is better than Wolford but, he wants a chance to start. I don't think he will be more than an average QB at best.

surely the rams saw how bad Wolford and Perkins performed and are not bringing them back! they wouldn't would they? go rams. P.S. thanks for the heads up on my poor avatar spelling and omissions. lol.

Pounding the table for this guy. A little Goff-like..wouldn't be bad for a 4th rd pick if we can get one. I have seen him listed now in the top 100 to 120 range.

Yeah QBs always seem to rise, it's that damn supply/demand effect. He's one of those guys who should be able to be a backup or maybe grow into something more than that. Good target for us and the Rams interviewed him.
 
As Dieter said above, this is only a 1yr deal. I would have liked him to stay through a full off season/pre season to see if we could have developed him but oh well.
